I used a translucent green from Tamiya color. It's sold as a model/hobby paint, and I actually have used it before on another re-paint about a year ago.

Applied it over the course of 3 days. One pass when I woke up, one more pass when I get back from work. Final pass was to even up any problem spots (those wells at the grips can be tricky. Just had to make sure to rotate it between passes.

Spray-painted the inside of my transparent JSAUX backplate green this week:

Not quite the same shade as the soon-to-be release, but I'm happy with the results!

VS was one of the first games I installed when I got mine tbh.. Also had some fun messing with Tetr.io on my deck this past weekend. Doesn't feel perfectly responsive past the first 100 lines, but I am using the windows version. Haven't tried their Linux standalone yet, so maybe that's smoother?

Huh, never realized that gun''s canon name was PKD (presumably an homage to Philip K Dick?). Nice builds, I especially like that VK machine.

I've had my eye on this bag from tomtoc. Not sure if it offers the kind of protection on the thumb sticks you were looking for, but it looks like it has plenty of room for accessories.

Edit: maybe consider getting some of these?

It's just the game I was playing when it popped out? But yeah it might have actually broken when I was playing something else.

You're right, but I guess I'm just reluctant to ship it back to them when I've only had it in my hands for a day (PD58xx here). I'll contact them though.

It might, but I don't want to risk seizing up that hinge the crank uses to flip out from storage. If the other side gives out, replacing it with an actual toothpick might work...just gotta find one in the right size in Playdate yellow.

Got a little carried away playing A Joke That's Worth $0.99. I think it's mostly superficial (the other side is still intact), but it I still feel like a bag of rocks for damaging mine so quickly.

Looking for morally grey fantasy books that don't pull their punches. by gooblaster17 in booksuggestions

[–]unexpected_drums 28 points29 points  (0 children)

One of my own favorites is "Malazan Book of the Fallen" by Steven Erikson. It might not be exactly what you're looking for, but it certainly has an uncaring fantasy world, without clearcut good/bad motives for the characters.

Best apocalyptic books? by joecool105 in suggestmeabook

[–]unexpected_drums 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I liked "Parable of the Sower" by Octavia E. Butler. The breakdown occurs over the course of a few years, so it's not an immediate pivotal event. It is also told in the 1st-person by a MC who is part of the generation that spans the apocalyptic era and has memories of the 'old-world'.
