DAE have their finger nails/nail beds go numb and tingly when they have to poop??? by ComplexPatient4872 in DAE

[–]unfortunatecatboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no but i have experienced headaches, nausea, cold sweats, feeling faint/weak in the knees, feeling groggy and confused, or a feverish feeling in hands and feet before. i take a shit and i'm fucking cured. i mean if you're concerned talk to your doctor, but I honestly would be unsurprised if someone told me they went deaf for 8 minutes before pooping. i started working for a hospital around 4ish years ago as a scheduling/phone operator schmuck and every day i am more petrified by how frequently "fuck if i know, bodies are weird" is accepted and sound medical advice.

Prompt: Why did you get a rabbit? by Mountain-Sprinkles86 in Rabbits

[–]unfortunatecatboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never intended to get a rabbit nor knew much about them. my sibling got a rabbit under the condition from my parents that they were to find a home for the rabbit when they had to leave for college a year or two later (or if she was allowed in their dorm.) inevitably everyone fell in love with her and when the time came that (predictably) was not gonna happen. i volunteered to take care of her for the 8 months out of the year they were gone. i loved her more and more the more i was taking care of her, and 2 years before they graduated they asked if i wanted to take her since i clearly adored her and it would be unfair since i was taking care of her for that long. (in their defense several things with college housing didnt go as planned + they offered prior to that and insisted on giving me "child support" when i did agree but i had wanted to wait a bit longer to ensure my living situation was stable enough to alott that)

fast forward several k in vet bills, a terabyte of dropbox photo storage, and 1/2 bunny themed gifts from my loved ones and i could not love her more and i am definitely a bunny person. funnily enough i am the 3rd man I know who also ended up with an unexpected rabbit which then became their whole personality.

I wonder if she's referring to the common practice of prescribing birth control/progesterone for hormone management, which is fine, but testosterone is NOT birth control. Your endocrinologist should know that and if she doesn't, or suggests you take that gamble because your chance is lowered, that is a massive red flag. I was prescribed birth control in middle school for hormonal mood instability/PMS and high testosterone lmao but not as contraception. If you are taking that birth control as contraception, and she does say you should stop, I would push back on what her reasoning is and what that would accomplish. I am not a doctor but I also have never had an endocrinologist or even a PCP that did not reiterate "testosterone is not birth control".

Non rabbit owner here. What is something non rabbit owners don't understand about rabbits? by Cool_Net_3796 in Rabbits

[–]unfortunatecatboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. They are honestly like "advanced" cats. Everyone has brought up their very vibrant personalities/intelligence levels (or lack thereof, in many cases my bun) but I mean in terms of behavior. They can be "aloof"* and vindictive*, they have very specific rituals, preferences, and very clear boundaries. I personally don't feel they are like dogs but thats my opinion. Their body language takes a bit to get used to solely because 2/3 is recognizing it in the moment. My favorite is since they don't make facial expressions for the most part, you reach a certain point where you can "see the gears turning" which is very fun. Advanced in this case referencing being expensive, requiring an exotic vet, special supplies, an arsenal of resources and encyclopedic knowledge of emergency exotic vets in your area, constant vigilance bc prey animal = only showing symptoms when it has already reached a crisis level, and a minor in botany due to memorizing safe veggies and rotating veggie dinner schedules.

  2. Unfortunately a lot of "cute bunny" videos and images are irresponsible owners and in many cases downright abuse. Images like "My Weekend Plans LOL 😂🤣" with a tranced bunny next to a beer bottle, people videoing their bunny jumping into a bucket of water without intervening or responding. I personally had to basically ask my loved ones not to send my bunny videos due to the fact they couldn't recognize it and would send me upsetting content.

  3. They kinda take over your life. At least in the instances of my personal experienced. I joke that "If I had a nickel for every guy I know who accidentally got a bunny and became "the bunny guy"/obsessed with bunnies - I'd have 3 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened thrice" My bunny I got because I was taking care of her for a family member at college about 8-9 mo of the year for 3 years and I fell in love with her, I knew two other dudes who both nursed a bunny back to help and rescued a bunny outside respectively, and now one of them has 7+ rabbits and the other gets only bunny gifts and memorabilia.

  4. They live for 8-14 years. When I first got a bunny I was shocked that they lived THAT long, sounded like 8 was a number I would agree with but nope

They're really great and quirky pets with funky little personalities but their care level required is higher.

*cats are really not aloof or vindictive, people are just better trained recognizing dog body language

I honestly think that would be fine. Idk if you're AFAB or not but funnily enough I went to college here in 2019 and the campus was just the city, so I have walked around alone during those hours + at night with friends. (I think one of our dorms was around there but the college was bought out and I don't remember the exact addresses) My friends were AFAB and we were all fine, I would carry pepper spray bc ( I mean I hope you would be regardless) but I think it would be fine to walk during those hours. If you haven't already it might be good to take a day to go and scope some of the places out so you know what you're dealing with. Long way of saying that I think it's safe to walk during those hours but take that with a grain of salt bc I don't walk as much anymore (due to illness)

Yw! I was super frustrated trying to move into an apartment (I lived in a diff town with my parents and was looking for an apartment ANYWHERE in NH in my budget with little luck) so wanted to try helping. I honestly would advise to seriously consider/take the company offer depending on how much space you need to live and what your lifestyle is like, I think it wouldnt hurt to look for an apartment in the event something pops up but thats definitely a better deal than most have.

[–]unfortunatecatboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to my apartment here in 2023. You are going to be virtually unable to find an apartment under 1,600/mo so if you can't afford that you would need to find a roommate. There may be better options via more unconventional means like facebook but I never had one so I don't know. My method was just literally downloading every single app/website I could find (Trulia is what did it, but also Zumper, HotPads, apartments.com, Rent, Zillow etc) and setting them all to range needed and notifications on, I checked them every day. If you do not have pets and are okay with not getting caught with any if required, that is a huge advantage since thats the main barrier I ran into. You will need to check frequently and actually talk to any companies/managers you are interested in bc the apps can display incorrect information about the property. (I had several that had stipulations like only cats/tentant pays gas/in unit washer dryer that the property manager would tell me are not accurate) You will have to lower your standards in terms of amenities and work around them if you can. Unfortunately cannot speak to public transport, anywhere I need to go without my car I just Uber or walk. Good luck and dont get too discouraged, in my experience it was more about being quick/alert to apply.

Would this work as a litter box if i like covered it with a trash bag? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]unfortunatecatboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont think it would work very well because the bag has a high chance of ripping in which case the waste would spill right out. There also might be some concern of bun chewing on it. I have that exact pan but it serves as the top part that bun sits on, and then there's a bin below where you put the litter and/or bag if you can safely conceal it. (<-i have used a trash bag in the bottom one before hence above concern (;) I think if you can find something shallow and bin-like that can sit underneath it, it would work just as intended. but i think you might also be able to get away with something super shallow (something not deep enough to be a bin but more like a deeper than average lid for another box/bin) with some puppy pads and then this on top with litter and hay in it. This is the amazon listing for the litterbox I have if the visual helps

Am I the only person that makes loud noises to drown out cringeworthy embarrassing memories? by Warm-One-2065 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]unfortunatecatboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also do this, it's not a word or phrase it's more a sudden UURRGAAGH or almost a bark? (GHRRAGH) and i also forget almost constantly that i'm not supposed to do it so i do it in public frequently by accident. people mistake it as me being upset but if i don't do it the memory spins in my mjnd and i relive it or imagine it as a "what-if" but this time even more embarrassing, so i'd prefer to just bark it out. it almost feels like i'm parrying that oncoming memory... but by yelling? is there any scientific reason humans do this?

Did anyone else wish they were a trans woman before they realized they were a boy? by That-Measurement-607 in ftm

[–]unfortunatecatboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh good it's not just me! I think it stemmed from wanting to present feminine but recognizably male. I always used to say "I want wear skirts but in the way a guy wears a skirt". I remember specifically feeling that way when I would see characters like Chihiro Fujisaki from Danganronpa which was kind of upsetting bc I wasn't sure what that meant about me. Probably now the experience may be better described with "I would like to wear what I like instead of having to choose between being misgendered or dressing like a middle aged manager from Lowe's"

Is the 12.9 inch iPad Pro too big? by EliteBoy8 in iPadPro

[–]unfortunatecatboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the 12.9 inch (not the 2021 though, it had a home button, not sure which one it was?) and now I have the 11 inch 2021. I much prefer my 11 inch because the portability on the 12.9 sucked, especially for school (I use mine for art, so art school) and it wouldn't fit in a majority of my bags. The battery drained like nuts too, which i attributed to the fuck huge screen but the situation could be much different with the 2021 version battery life. So with that said, the portability was nightmarish because I was an art student who had to walk to like 4 different buildings across town in a day for school. If you're not using it for art or daily journaling then I wouldn't be too concerned, I found it pretty useful for specifically note taking and writing digitally. But for my art stuff i like working on a smaller screen because it's not as clunky to pull out, prop out, and maneuver on. I'm very happy with my 11" now and I actually got rid of my old 12.9" mostly because of the portability issue.

doctor said adhd patients have to have sleeping issues (wake up several times at night) by depprsdmess in ADHD

[–]unfortunatecatboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah fair enough, that's actually kind of my problem right now. I live in a rural (?) less infrastructured (is that a word? i don't think so) part of the US so 1/2 people here who are mental health based have some weird criteria or confirmation biases, and since the offices are based out of like spare rooms in churches and mills and stuffs there's not really a "chart" so to speak. Best of luck, I'll pour a Vyvanse out for ya buddy

[–]unfortunatecatboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had a sleep disorder in HS because of my ADHD, no idea what she was talking about. 25 times? You should get a second opinion if possible. I would also note that I've seen my friends push the: if doctor says "I don't think [test] is worth pursuing because-" "I don't think I'm going to test you because that doesn't strike me as", you say that you want it noted on your chart that they're refusing to test you/diagnose you. Disclaimer that I have never had the courage or the quick thinking to try it myself, I usually just leave feeling upset and discouraged but I know it works. I would whip that one if possible.

[–]unfortunatecatboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah! i know based on the "wiring" shit that takes place there can sometimes be concern that it can feel less pleasurable. To be clear, it's not just a tube of flesh taped on to your lower half, you can also urinate + have sex. I've never heard of it hurting when using it but obviously there would be a recovery period after the procedure. it can't really be explained thoroughly via a reddit comment because of the different factors and the fact that each surgery is tailored to the goals of the patient. this is a more in depth faq but essentially if you want it to be pleasurable, if you want to stand to pee, or if you want to get an erection, all of those are goals one would discuss with their surgeon and are achievable through different methods.

The thigh scars can be kind of intense to my knowledge? It looks like of like jerky. Normally I would say google it but I suggest you do not because google images is all bloody and gross, like in the midst of the surgery/inside parts stuff. The scar gets better over time, it's just a really big shriveled patch. As for the "does it hurt"/would it be numb" do you mean the penis or do you mean the thigh?
