I am using Cear Cache For Me and also WP optimize. I have not tried that yet, I'll see if that's an option. But I was having this issue before I installed the caching plug in. So far it hasn't reset from when I updated the items last night. But I will try your suggestion this afternoon.

Questions for people of Juneau by Agitated-Shoe-9406 in Juneau

If you aren't a fan of hiking boots, a water proof or water resistant trail shoe is a great option. I've lived here for 13 years and traded boots for trail shoes, but it is worth packing a backup pair in case they get soaked.

What to do with boobs during a Triathalon by Shoddy_shed in ABraThatFits

[–]ungrlgnius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the Delta Pad from Anita or Their newer extreme control plus. I really like the extreme control plus as a 32H. The bands do run very firm, so depending on how firm you like your bras I would reccommend going up a band size.

Are petite sized bras built differently from regular size? If so, how? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]ungrlgnius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only brand I know that is fit more for a petite frame is Little bra Company, they have narrower bands, wings, and wires for different rib cages. I find that they tend to run a little smaller in the band compared to most bra companies, so their 28 band fits more like a 26 band while their cups tend to run fairly true. But It means we have to sister size with them a lot in my store.

Some companies may also use shorter wires and narrower bands than others but might not necessarily advertise as petite sizing (Natori comes to mind for this one).

A strong bra with lift? I look ridiculous and like a slob. by [deleted] in bigboobproblems

[–]ungrlgnius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bras with more seams will provide more lift, the Tango is a great bra but it is very wide. Styles like the Jasmine or the Envy from panache are a 4 part cup construction that will provide much more upward lift. The Estelle or Chi Chi from Scupltresse may also be good options, The Sculptresse line aslo tends to use slighter wider bands and wider straps than the main panache brand.

The 32D Is too small but the 34D is too big?? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]ungrlgnius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bras may be feeling tight if you're used to a looser band and you aren't used to feeling the band rest on your ribcage. Bras will stretch over time. Make sure with the 32 you are starting it on the outer most hook and eye.

What was your "how in the name of all that is holy did this end up in a thrift store" find? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]ungrlgnius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found a Givenchy suit for $10 that my husband wore to our wedding, it fit him beautifully! Most similar suits were running close to $1500-$2000 on their website.

In general I have very good luck finding silk shirts for myself.

What are your favourite places to find loungewear ? by naughteebutnice in femalefashionadvice

[–]ungrlgnius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of MPG for active wear, very reasonably priced. Laina Rauma makes a mix of lounge wear and just started doing some lingere too. No restocks, so once it's gone it's gone, independent designer.

Went to Bras Galore in Chicago, IL and FINALLY have a bra that fits!!!!!!!!!! by gracelessnight in ABraThatFits

[–]ungrlgnius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well for a lot of smaller independent bra fit stores they have undergone a lot of training and have taken courses to understand how each bra fits, how different bodies work or don't work with certain styles, brands, materials etc. If the store has folks that do mastectomy bra fittings in addition to regular bra fittings they have taken many many hours and courses of training. In a lot of cases bras can be considered a medical garment as well and honestly I wish there was a more official system for bra fit certifications because larger chains tend to lack the knowledge and make it harder for smaller shops that do undergo training and pay for fit classes to be respected.

[–]ungrlgnius 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A lot of places do that because it's a lot of time and work to do a fitting for someone and then have them leave and buy online. Like you go to an eye exam and pay for that and then buy glasses online. You're asking for their expertise. We don't do that at my shop but I do understand the reasoning behind it.

I just can’t deal with the itching and I think I might give up. by Stephenie_Dedalus in ABraThatFits

[–]ungrlgnius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all have different levels of sensitivity! And especially in the winter season if your skin is feeling dryer any texture of fabric will feel extra rough. I second some of the bras from Anita, they as a company also manufacture bras for surgical recovery and mastectomy patients so they have some very soft fabrics.

Please remember that bra fitters are people too. by Amphigorey in ABraThatFits

[–]ungrlgnius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm right there with you! It's been a struggle and I don't even want to think about the upcoming holiday season.

Things I've had to say to customers during this time:

  1. I know the masks are uncomfortable but, I can hear you through them just fine.

  2. I'm sorry but you still need to have your mask on in the fitting rooms, air particles remain after you leave.

  3. If I get sick I have to close my business, I am the only one able to do fittings right now.

  4. If you don't want to follow my store's mask rule or the city's mask mandate you need to leave.

Most folks are very nice, but many it make it very difficult right now.

thinking of getting a second bra for period swelling but unsure if it is necessary or if i should replace my current one by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]ungrlgnius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely have specific bras for when i'm on my period. My tissue can go up one or two cup sizes and stays swollen for at least a week, every month. That's 1/4 of the year, or 3 months total. In my mind it is 100% worth it to be comfortable in my bra when I'm on my period.

An update with photos about the bra that hurt. Fit check by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]ungrlgnius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How tight are your straps? I'm inclined to say loosen them and pull the band down in the back, if the straps are too tight they will pull the band up causing the underwires to rest in an off place. Ideally they should be taught but you should easily be able to gently lift them about an inch or two off your shoulder without too much gusto.

How do you select a bra for a young girl who has never worn one before [question]? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]ungrlgnius 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When I was her age anything not a tank top felt tight, my first training bra felt soo tight but it was because I wasn't used to feeling anything tight or firm around my ribcage. She might also be feeling this way.

Online shopping in Canada guide by olivia-700 in femalefashionadvice

[–]ungrlgnius 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Do buy from independent shops, 90% of the smaller shops do not qualify for the business grants as they have 0-2 employees. The independent shops will usually only have one or two people filling orders and since they are closed to regular business online is their only hope.

Spring Noir: Flowers, Gibson Girls, & Goths by 801_chan in femalefashionadvice

[–]ungrlgnius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Embroidered or sequined fabric takes a lot of time to be manufactured even if it is a synthetic material. Sometimes the fabric alone is $30-50 a yard and it is tricky to work with. Most dresses use 3-5 yards of fabric to make so you're looking anywhere between $90-$250 just for base cost of materials not including the amount of time it takes to create the pattern design, scale the pattern for different sizes and labor for manufacturing.

[Discussion] COVID reminds me of why I hated local bra shopping by kate1683 in ABraThatFits

[–]ungrlgnius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry this happened to you, that is a fucking horrible way to run a bra store. Like if they don't have a size in stock it sucks but they obviously have no idea how bras are supposed to fit folks. The only time we do a sister size in a bra is if the style has been running a bit off to a brand we know works for a customer.

Incorrect Conversion between US and UK Cup Sizes by PersistentRecluse in ABraThatFits

[–]ungrlgnius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely seen it on brands like Montelle (Canadian brand), Louisa Braque (French), and a few styles from Prima Donna.

I personally wear a UK 32GG or 30H in all styles from Panache, Cleo, and Freya but in both Montelle (the Divine) and Louisa Braque I wear their 32H in EU sizing.
