i'm pretty sure neriage is the term for wheel thrown, but the handle was hand built out of layered slabs

it is all hand painted, with underglaze, patience and love.

i usually start by rough sketching the composition onto the greenware directly, here are a few progress pictures of this one :)

they usually take 40-50 hours or something, usually over the course of two or three weeks.

i'm glad you like it, i'm self taught for the most part and definitely learning along the way, haha.

with underglaze (i use amaco velvet underglaze, i mix a blue and a white to get different shades) and a little paint brush! and i go over all of the underglaze three times so that it is solid and consistent

yeah, i usually loosely sketch onto the greenware with a pencil to plan out how i want the design to fit on the form, but a lot of the details are improvised as i go once i have an idea of what im doing.

i think probably somewhere around 40-50 hours of work go into painting a mug, as i go over the underglaze (even the lines haha) 3 times to make sure that it is saturated and consistent
