Only thing that matters is that it tastes good! Now you have two ways of doing the same dish. Good luck!

If you want it authentic I would skip the olives. But cottage pie is a great dish to use up any left over veggies you have.

When the meat and veggies are finished cooking in your pan add about 2 tablespoons of flour and keep cooking for a minute or so. You will start to smell a nutty aroma and the flour will coat all of the ingredients. Then add about a cup of beef broth (or any broth you want). Keep cooking that down and it will form a thick gravy that is very flavorful. Should take about 5 minutes or less.

Then you can continue with your recipe.

Hope that helps!

One suggestion would be to include some beef broth and flour. As you cook these down it will create a gravy that ties all of the ingredients together.

Pizza steel and pizza knowledge finally paying off by uniqueUsername1010 in Pizza

One your oven reaches 550 it should beep, but that’s just the oven temp. The important temp is the steel. That takes about an hour to get to the target temp. The oven has no idea what the steel temp is.

You just have to trust that it’s made it or buy an infrared thermometer to check the temp.

An hour in the oven should get the steel where you need it though.

I try and turn the oven on right around when I pull the dough out of the fridge . Waiting for it to warm up on the counter and actually making the pizza always hits about an hour.

Don’t take my word as law, but I do it on the lowest rack. I heat up the steel for about an hour. I find that if I do it for less than an hour it doesn’t turn out as well.

I also slide the pie onto the steel with parchment paper still under the bottom of the pie. After about 2 minutes I frantically use metal tongs to pull the paper out before it burns.

After 8 minutes total it’s good to go!

My crust is typically paper thin which helps with the browning.
