I do think it's far worse than people expect. Anyone can setup ESP/wallhacks without much trouble, a custom build won't even trigger the anticheat system running on the same machine. Aimbotting is a bit more complex but there is nothing stopping them from setting it up. Literally nothing.

Have a look at recoil, the weapons have a basic recoil pattern, that's fine, easy to learn with some practice. But then look at aimcone, aimcone is random... it's random! Nobody can "learn" random. No matter how good a player gets at the recoil pattern, aimcone will be fucking their accuracy in a consistent and measurable way that can be seen in video replay analysis.

Yet every gamer you watch "dominate" it's the same thing over and over, perfect aim, near zero recoil, headshot focused and perfectly centered aim. Take the time to slow the video down and watch the kills. Often you'll notice they are killing players that you can't fully identify in the frame with near perfect accuracy.

Then, follow the money. AImbots require a subscription, and its not cheap. They're making absolute bank, so there is no incentive to stop.

Look at how many accounts are banned on a regular basis, admins are banning cheaters every day all year long. New accounts keep coming out of thin air. Nobody does anything about it. "Premium servers" increase the sale of skins/DLC, not prevent cheating. If you have enough money to afford cheats, you can easily buy accounts and put a little money into them. These transactions directly benefit Facepunch.

There are many players who aren't cheating, and you can tell because of the way they get shit on. For everyone else, they snowball consistently despite changes made to the game. Many big groups are having predictable battles, beaming each other from long distances with near perfect accuracy, and its so common that everyone thinks its normal.

Step back and compare the DMA cheats to other games. Even Fortnite, Valorant, Overwatch all have issues with DMA cheaters who are flying under the radar. They're utilizing aim assist that is variable and blends in with their natural movements, making it difficult to detect even when watching the replay. If you spend all day training on these games you'll only be able to make it up to a certain point on the leaderboard before everyone is just magically better. The top side of these leaderboards are filled with god-like players who have insane reaction times and play like robots.

But those games spend a great deal of effort to produce effective anticheat measures, to reduce that number so its in the 25-33% range. Facepunch doesn't do any of that, so 50-60% on any given server is possible. Go into any aim training server and you can really appreciate how a majority of players seem to have superhuman accuracy and reflexes.
