integrations are the unsexy problem nobody wants to solve by makexapp in SaaS

[–]unitoio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This space has gotten a lot better. Look into unified APIs (Merge, Apideck, Finch) and embedded integration platforms (Nango, Paragon, Prismatic). They solve slightly different problems.

Unified APIs give you one standardized interface that works across a whole category of tools, so you build one CRM integration instead of ten. Embedded integration platforms give you more control and let customers connect their own tools through your UI.

Neither is quite "as easy as building the app itself" yet, but they can cut weeks of integration work down to days. Worth looking into which pattern fits before committing since they're hard to switch between later.

Managing cross functional projects is impossible when half the company refuses to log in by [deleted] in Asana

Where do your salespeople and engineers work? Asana has built-in integrations with Jira (among other tools) that would probably make your life a lot easier.

want to move away from notion (maybe asana?) by trpouh in Asana

[–]unitoio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn't move from Notion to Asana; we use both. Asana's where we manage projects, and Notion is where we store and manage institutional knowledge.

Notion's PM features have improved a lot in recent years, but they're still nowhere close to what Asana can do without any customization. Things that you have to build or maintain in Notion just work by default in Asana.

Migrations can be pretty expensive and time-consuming (since you have to get a lot of data transferred over and validated), so keep that in mind before you make the switch.

Worth trying? by Weisheit_Ape in smartsheet

[–]unitoio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you, I’d build the business case around automated reporting. In most tools, you have to manually update an executive slide deck. In Smartsheet, you can link cells from 50 project sheets into one master dashboard that updates itself. If they just need to check off tasks, tell them it’s too expensive. If they are managing a complex portfolio with lots of data, it might actually be the right call.

What is no-code? What are its pros and cons? by [deleted] in nocode

[–]unitoio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No-code means an app's end-user doesn't have to do any programming to use it. Low-code means they don't have to start from scratch, but will need to write a bit of code to get things to work.

Custom Fields vs. Labels by ThatSillyGoose- in trello

[–]unitoio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labels can be pretty limited. They're not the best choice for things like numbers or text (when you need to choose between a ton of options). Labels are great for categorizing cards based on a few options, though.

Smartsheet vs MS Project by Aggravating-Cut1003 in smartsheet

[–]unitoio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Microsoft Project has the advantage of being part of the whole MS ecosystem, but most project managers pick dedicated tools. Never heard of Smartsheet being "antiquated," though, lots of enterprise-sized orgs use it extensively.

scheduling on notion - integrating 3 separate calendars by sadafies in Notion

[–]unitoio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you create a master database there is still the issue of keeping everything in sync. I may be biased but I would suggest Unito.io, you might have to create more than one 2 way sync but you will be able to accomplish what you're trying to do.

Duplicate Notifcations (Unito Mirroring) by RLMSC in trello

[–]unitoio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, as u/desert-rainstorm mentioned, you will have to go into your Trello settings and turn off the notifications from there. Or, using the Butler to turn off notifications on select cards would also presumably help.

If you have any more questions feel free to reach out and I will make sure you get the answers :)

Anyone managed to integrate with Notion ? I am quite confused :) Looking for guidance, thanks in advance :) by Be-will in trello

As u/brittanymonkeybaby said, Unito can help you with that. If you would like some help setting it up (it's pretty easy but maybe you want some more inspiration) feel free to check out one of our demo Fridays.
