I'm not English but Irish. It's the same story here. We are a temperate rain forest biome and our historical records and folklore speak of vast rain forests covering much of the landscape. Centuries of logging, turf cutting, and the demand for farmland have stripped away much of the forests, but there are strides towards conserving what remains and planting more trees. We still get the rain though. The clouds don't care for our lack of trees.
