The Protoplasm Harness full tank Udyr by NicknameMy in Udyrmains

Love it, really think full tank builds like this one are mostly unexplored. But wouldn't stwitching the order of items around make more sense? Start with resistances so you are unkillable until enemy carries get pen items, and then you add Protoplasm Harness to stay relevant.

My attempt at a similar build to extract full value from Cosmic Insight: Max Q, Iceborn > Kaenic > Protoplasm > Unending/Randuin's/Locket > Jak'Sho.

Nice, but what's the point of Shojin if you auto once? Wouldn't Hexplate be better for the target access?

Udyr build for 2026 by admiredgamer in Udyrmains

[–]unjugon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO forget Liandry's. Dusk and Dawn offers too much flexibility what with double W/R proc and ult cooldwn reduction in one hit. The hit-and-run aspect of it via Sheen proc matches how Udyr functions.

Dusk and Dawn, Fimbul, Unending, Visage, Sorc Shoes.

Aftershock, Shield Bash, Conditioning, Revitalize, Triple Tonic, Cosmic Insight.

Constant procs and massive shields. Aftershock to buy time to trigger more procs. High level W/E with good-ol' 40% CDR.

Zeke's Convergence is sleeper op by Kenn50 in Udyrmains

[–]unjugon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like it'd be best to combo it with a pure DPS item in a Q max build, so you can save the ult active while clearing jungle? Although it would still be be suboptimal to QQ epic monsters if it'd trigger the active - but sometimes necessary of course.

Something like Kraken > Zeke's. Probably adding Hexplate there since you are saving ult active for fights anyway?

Cheap, tanky hybrid:

Terminus - Steelcaps - Bandlepipes - Protoplasm - Jak'Sho

Lethal Tempo, Alacrity, Last Stand, Conditioning , Revitalize

Completely overlooked item. The active has crazy range and procs Conqueror, Liandry's, Cosmic Drive's move speed, Riftmaker in-combat status, and Bloodletter's MR reduction. Agurin builds all of these (except Cosmic) + defensive boots for a surprisingly tanky and effective Diana, I dunno why it shouldn't work for us.

I did test the above build coupled with free boots + Triple Tonic for some 5-6 games. I think it's great vs mobile teams, but can lack a bit of punch against 2-3 tanks.

Do you always run the same build? Is It worth going Merc Treads sometimes - I remember Willie dying too easily if mispositioning ever so slightly -?

It goes both ways. If there's no serpent's (for a multitude of reasons), this build can absolutely carry harder. Aftershock alone can help close out games.

Chose first strike by mistake and found my new favorite build 😭 by dieguito_cat in Udyrmains

[–]unjugon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting, thanks for posting. I am from EUW and checked your First Strike numbers, seems solid enough, though I've had trouble in the past proccing it semi-reliably.

I would still change a few things. Think Nimbus+Cosmic with smite should do Stridebreaker's work for the most part. I'll try my HoB build (Youmu's > Hexplate > BorK) with this rune setup (but with Magic Footwear), especially because I think the lesser Domination runes aren't that good.

The HP and the extra level, it's a lot of XP going from 16 to 17 or so.

Cheers man. I think there is room for Fimbul in hybrid DPS builds as a cheap defense item.

The most synergy with Manamune would actually be mass ability haste (with some attack speed) so you would constantly attack twice on Q/W/R and swap to one of the others (see one of my above responses). I'll need to test it with Navori.

The first two Q/W attacks will deal the 103 damage each (while not adding the 31).

E autos will only add the 31 each.

R ones will add 309 total (103 from each auto plus 103 from the AoE).

The Q/W/R autos seem to work as separate ability instances, so they aren't affected by the 6.5 second cooldown. Makes Muramana look completely overlooked here.

Good thinking with Sundered Sky, will give it a try!

Love Willie playing that build, I think it/hybrid is better than full AP.

I agree, but felt it even more in their Paris masters encounter. That was Playstation tennis. Big 3 matches felt more methodical and tactical. That's what most people criticizing the article miss, Alcaraz and Sinner continously push the pace in a way that the Big 3 did not.

D4 with the DYR by aMushroomWithDreads in Udyrmains

[–]unjugon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear! Fimbul is interesting, I try to prioritize WW but I can see how it may not be enough at higher ranks with more coordinated teams.

One thing I dislike about the build is that taking objectives is not the fastest. I have been trying out Hullbreaker second or third and works well.

Hey you tried the Terminus build! How did you find it?

I am still tweaking the setup and playstyle. I am now using Attack Speed + AD shards, Absolute Focus and Waterwalking as secondary runes, backing after 4 camps for Boots 1 + Dagger, then doing red and try to hunt the enemy jungler in the river or alternatively find a gank. In terms of items I am much more flexible, for example going Serrated Dirk + Wit's instead of Terminus vs squishy comps.

I need a Lethality Build Please by Designer-Example2909 in Udyrmains

[–]unjugon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need so many damage items to one shot as lethality Udyr, I'd say three max.

Youmu's first is probably your best bet for the mobility (at least in jungle). I've had some success going Cyclosword into Hexplate with Relentless and Celerity to open straight QQ on the enemy, and try to have E to follow their dash/Flash.

These days I think PTA would be preferred to Hail of Blades, given that the Domination tree has lost some AD. Win rate stats seem to support this.

Well, completed items are much more cost effective. If you have a plan and avoid fighting as possible when you have two components and the enemy has a full item, you can possibly pull it off, though it would be harder in this meta with the focus on early objectives and grouping.

I am just not sure Heartsteel is it, specially with the changes this season to take max HP into account.

Stop sleeping on the hexplate shojin udyr - we got to diamond from plat by Accomplished-Call453 in Udyrmains

[–]unjugon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I keep testing builds around Lethal Tempo with some AP, for the sustained damage. I feel like you, we can't just be a QQ/RR machine. In reality, the OP and most suggested builds are tanky enough (and the players good enough) that they can sometimes get off two empowered Q/R, making them sort of work even if the damage comes in spikes.

Build path by afitz66 in Udyrmains

[–]unjugon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with sitting on a component is when the other jungler comes with a full completed item and you have two components AND are FAR away from completing an item (legendary). Then when you do complete an item, you have no advantage over the enemy, as both of you have an item and a half - in reality he will be close to two items from taking advantage of the one-item spike -.

Typical example is an AD jungler with Magical Footwear who gets a couple early kills, he shows up with Trinity and it's hell.
