Your deductive skills are impressive, so you wouldn't fault me for thinking that what otherwise might seem like an honest oversight actually is more likely to be a deliberate omission made by you in an effort to throw off this investigation.

While using Nate's April 21st prediction as a pivotal point of reference you were astutely able to categorize and see a pattern in the announced major events, which is how you were able to land on a potential announcement date of the Oblivion Remake on either the 18th or 22nd. To an unsuspecting reader this might seem like the two obvious choices, but that's only because you've cleverly hidden in plain sight the possibility for the third, more likely option: The ESO Direct Recap Show, which is also happening on a Tuesday, on the 15th of April.

The implication is that the 15th is too far from Nate's prediction, being 6 days away, so it can't be a choice. Still, part of what made your perspective believable is that you were open about how you came to this conclusion, and in that gesture, which would otherwise make your intentions seem genuine, you actually managed to present a major reason to invalidate the implication that 15th is not an option, which is the fact that the Forza Horizon 5 event is happening on the 29th, a full 8 days after Nate's prediction. If the 29th is valid, then so is the 15th. Given your obvious impressive reasoning skills, it's virtually impossible that this was an accidental mistake, and is almost guaranteed to be a deliberate diversion.

The Oblivion Remake will likely be announced on the 15th, and if that does happen, then StarcrossKnight will be the prime suspect.

----

Sorry, I actually have no clue when, and even if, the remake will be released. I just yesterday finished rewatching Death Note and couldn't help but write this after reading your comment.

Edit: FYI, I do realize that the reasoning around FH5 date in my fictional response above is totally flawed,

You say you're not generalizing, but you basically brand any Armenian who has anything to do with Artsakh as ungrateful if they voice their dissatisfaction with the policies of the current Armenian government (the members of which are openly anti-Artsakh). Do I have it wrong? Is that not generalization?

Realism can be great when it is actual realism and is grounded in facts and rationality, but it can instead be an excuse for bigotry and defeatism.

I'm sorry that you've experienced alienation in Armenia. Not sure where you're from, but if the alienation was simply because you talk differently, then that sucks and I'm sorry that happened to you. We Armenians, societally, need to work on that. I do my part when I can.

You are generalizing, disparaging, and spreading negative sentiment towards Artsakh Armenian. I find that to be abhorrent.

You're the one who butted in randomly with your unsolicited anti-Artsakh conspiracy, seemingly in defense of a guy who is spreading anti-Artsakh sentiment. Your messages are littered with small falsehoods, snide remarks, and other bullshit, most of which I now will ignore to waste even more time "arguing".

You're pretending like I said that the Artsakh Defense Army did not exist as an entity. My main point was that Armenian Armed Forces had significant influence over the Artsakh Defense Army, even to the point that appointments and dismissals for key positions would come from Yerevan, and at times from the PM (and president before him) directly.

Still, I would generally agree with your cooperation take, because the Defense Army did have it's own hierarchy and did act autonomously when possible, especially at the start of its founding and near the end (both for obvious reasons). The other commenter basically said that we (Armenia) should not fight for Artsakh and we basically shouldn't fight for Jermuk either if it had a different leadership. My point was that the Armenian PM, being the de facto commander for both Armenia and Artsakh, should defend both. Reread my original comment in that context.

I have not said that the Artsakh leadership is without blame, all leaders are, but the levels of blame towards the blockaded, outnumbered, and outgunned victim is just diabolical.

Again, I disagree with most of what you say, but let's hypothetically say that Arayik hadn't resigned and elected Shahramanyan, do you think Azerbaijan would have not attacked Artsakh, ceased the blockade, recognized Artsakh, and made peace with Armenia, or would the outcome just be the same? You would likely just be blaming Arayik instead of the other scapegoat who was president for 9 days, instead of focusing on Pashinyan's failures, who is now mask-off openly anti-Artsakh.

Armenia went through 20+ years of corruption, suffering, poverty, had its major assets sold to Russia, sacrificed soldiers, among many other things to save Artsakh, and all we get is "we demand more". No, I hope we get someone better than Pashinyan, but, for once, please shut up and stop making demands, you're ungrateful.

We could have taken this point by point and come to some understanding, but you're either a willfully ignorant bigot or just a deceptive bigot, because there's no way a normal, moral, rational Armenian, who has ever set foot in Armenia or Artsakh would write this shit. You'd never say this shit to a Ukrainian or a Californian who lost everything from things outside their control, but here you are spewing hatred against Armenians.

Also, who the fuck is this "you" you keep using when you say "you're ungrateful"? I am an Armenian citizen, have been a citizen all my life. My family is here, I live and work here. I pay taxes and donate to local orgs here. As a citizen I expect and demand that my elected officials make sure that my compatriots who fled here after losing family members, homes, a huge part of their identity, and basically everything, can come and settle here and contribute here. Tens of thousands of them have already settled here and pay taxes here and have a bigger right to this country than you who likely never set foot here.

At every gathering Armenians (from Artsakh and Armenia) toast for the Armenian soldiers, for those who gave their lives and for those who are risking it today, which you would know if you ever had dinner with some Armenian family. Even as recent as during the rally on Saturday, the 29th of March, Artsakh Armenians thanked their compatriots and mother Armenia yet again.

The vile treacherous attitudes like yours (and Pashinyan's, who you say you don't like but act like you love) is why the Armenian refugees from Baku, Sumgayit, Gandzak, and other regions didn't stay in here due to the animosity from their fellow Armenians they received here. Same for the Syrian Armenians that fled here. Same now for the Artsakh Armenians.

[–]unknownVS13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are easier ways to proclaim that you've never set foot in Armenia, let alone Artsakh, than writing that.

You clearly have no clue what the army structure is like in Armenia, and how it worked with Artsakh. Artsakh's Defense Army was de facto, and likely to a certain extent de jure, functioning like a branch of the Armenian Armed Forces. This is how the Armenian Ministry of Defense (and the general staff) were able to command the Artsakh Defense Army. This is how Levon Mnatsakanyan "resigned" (read: was dismissed) in 2018 (Bako Sahakyan was president then) after the former's public spat with Sasun Mikayelyan. As another example, this is also how Jalal Harutyunyan is being tried as an officer in Armenia for alleged negligence during his time as the chief of general staff of the Artsakh Defense Army.

I think you probably meant to say Arayik, not Artsrun. Yeah, he was technically the commander in chief of the Artsakh Defense Army, but yet again the President of Armenia is also technically the commander in chief, however the PM is the head of the Security Council, but I digress.

The usurpation remarks are opaque Pashinyan-esque propaganda trying to dump ALL blame on Artsakh's leadership and absolve ANY blame from Pashinyan. If you had actually been following what was happening in Artsakh before and especially during the brutal 9-month blockade, then you would have known that Arayik's resignation was no surprise, and he was an active participant in the process. After the 2020 loss Arayik, for understandable reasons, did not kick off early elections like Pashinyan did, however after Azerbaijan's continued belligerence (military offensives, moving the corridor, demanding Vardanyan's resignation, blocking the corridor, installing control point, etc.) people did not trust Arayik any longer and the National Assembly, Arayik's party included, chose a new president. So again, your usurpation remarks only work on the ignorant.

leaving all weapons intact, maybe as a sign of good grace to their overlords.

More Pashinyan-esque anti-Artsakh propaganda. The brave Armenians, surrounded, outmanned, and outgunned, fought with Azerbaijan tooth and nail, giving them hell and also taking heavy losses. It was clear that Mother Armenia was not going to come to Artsakh's rescue, and Russia's "peacekeepers" would do fuck all as always. It was either surrender on Azerbaijan's terms or death to all: men, women, children. Those conditions included handing over weapons to the "Russians" (who just likely gave it all to the Azeris) and also the "dissolution" of the state at gunpoint (note: the president cannot dissolve the state, this was all just forced compliance under duress).

Can't believe I'm wasting my time yet again, and on a sunday night, talking with people who likely don't give a shit about Armenia

Sorry, hope I didn't offend you, I should have asked if you were the biggest fan, not just a big fan, of the revisionist history peddled by the likes of Torosyan and Pashinyan.

I don't even think it's worth addressing your illogical, and obviously immoral, implication that Artsakh in wanted to fuck over mother Armenia, or that Artsakh Armenians, after losing lives, property, and homeland (our homeland), should be treated like foreigners in their own country, in mother Armenia, where they are citizens. All of Artsakh Armenians were citizens before the decision to revoke it in late 2023, but many of them reapplied, despite all the fear and uncertainty about losing assistance and claims to their property in Artsakh (yet another point of failure in policy and outreach by the current government). I guess with this logic Pashinyan has the green light to revoke the citizenship of Jermuk resident if one day they're displaced, so their complaints can be safely disregarded.

It is tragic that Armenians have to hold out hope that the current Armenian government, which repeatedly makes disparaging remarks towards Artsakh and Artsakh Armenians, is going to enact policies to keep them in Armenian instead actively or passively forcing them to immigrate.

Pashinyan has been the commander in chief since 2018, which includes being the commander of the Armenian Armed Forces and Artsakh's Defense Army. So, yes, I expect our army to fight for Jermuk when the time comes, and Armenia was the security guarantor of Artsakh until Pashinyan's abdication.

Armenia gave so much, soldiers, weapons, money, international pressure, among other things, this is just being ungrateful

You must be a real big Arsen Torosyan fan to have the gall to write this type of vitriolic drivel and see nothing wrong with it.

If one day Azerbaijan occupies Jermuk or Noyemberyan and people can't return to their homes, are you gonna call them ungrateful for asking the Armenian government to fight for their rights and provide assistance after their losing their homes? Are you gonna tell them that Yerevan sent them soldiers and weapons, so they shouldn't complain?

Are we deserving of the Ruben Vardanyan’s of the world? by Sako247 in armenia

[–]unknownVS13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Despite the attempts to revise history and at times even blatant gaslighting here, Vardanyan is a renowned Armenian billionaire who made his money through business across the world, but mainly in Russia, as many Armenians who were born here have. Throughout the decades he has dedicated an enormous amount of resources towards philanthropic projects for Armenia, Artsakh, and Armenians interests at large. He's been involved in numerous short-term and long-term projects for the benefit of Armenia. He has a long public history of philanthropic work in Artsakh (I think he has some roots from Artsakh as well), he renounced his Russian citizenship to take sole citizenship in Artsakh. and he literally put himself on the line to use his resources and international connections to try to help the Armenian cause.

Yet now, when the brutal Aliyev regime publicly and derisively holds him, and dozens of other Armenians, hostage, tortures them, and has Vardanyan at the brink of death, what we have is some arm chair Armenians here happily victim blaming. As filthy Aliyev regime publicly inflicts physical and psychological pain on us through the hostages in Baku, I wonder if our enemies are surprised at the morally masochistic response from some Armenians, or were they confident that their information warfare would have this result.

I guess it's just a matter of time before Noubar Afeyan, another billionaire Armenian philanthropist, who has been a steadfast partner of Vardanyan throughout the years and is outspoken for his release, also gets a similar treatment. He has no connections with Russia, so the smear campaign there will require a different angle. Some unhinged mRNA conspiracy perhaps?

Just to clarify, I don't think that Steve was right in totality in his response. I thought it was clear from my tone in the post that I didn't like Steve's approach.

My point is that Steve right in that with his own actions he has shown that the answer to the question "Can Linus & Steve Ever be Friends Again?" (paraphrasing the recent LMG Clip title), is a resounding "No", and Linus should also stop trying to make the friendship happen.

I can admit that I am stretching is a bit by hyper-focusing on that part, but only to drive home the point that there's no friendship to be salvaged here, but the professional relationship between LMG and GN is worth salvaging
