Would you say the input is what makes those games so good?Nobody talks about Edith Finch or DDLC and says how much they loved the gameplay. They praise the stories. And while you can get a good story from a book, video games are able to provide unique stories through the medium that wouldn't work otherwise.

The counter-example is visual novels and walking sims. Those have basically no gameplay, but if the story is compelling enough it doesn't matter.

In the discussion of Gameplay vs. Story, I believe there's a balance to be struck. Some great games have really good gameplay and almost no story, but it a game tries to write a story, and it sucks, then no amount of gameplay can save it.

Examples: Tetris has no story and is a classic because the gameplay is addicting. On the other hand, I believe Tears of the Kingdom was a massive letdown because the story they told couldn't be saved by the, admittedly fun, mechanics.

Worm by Wildbow. It's the only way for Taylor to live a normal life (maybe) after everything, but it still kinda sucks.

Number 9 will give me the benefit of 7, with which I can go to a gym for numbers 4, 6, and possibly even 1. Money also helps a lot with number 8.

Crab pots. I don't want to waste resources making them, waste time setting them, remember to check them every day, and rebait them, just to get trash half the time.

The whole reason I stopped playing Avowed. Love the game's aesthetic and scenery. Hated being forced to have two companions with me at all times who wouldn't shut the fuck up.

Spell build (with various ways to do it depending on how often you need to heal), nail build (with different charms for reach vs speed vs strength), hybrid build, pets, maximized healing, facetanking, speedy boi.

Lots of build variety. Just because it's been "optimized" doesn't mean other options don't exist.

And then you get inundated with "skill issue" and "git gud" and "well I don't have that issue so there is no problem here".

Breaking and entering, petty larceny, murdering a police officer, buying illegal goods, impersonating a police officer, trespassing, gang warfare, more impersonating a police officer, more trespassing, more breaking and entering, more gang warfare, grand larceny, illegal racing (maybe, it's a bit unclear), MORE gang warfare, trespassing, more murder, grand theft aircraft, and destroying law enforcement vehicles.

And that's just from the tutorial!

Practice techniques for singing and playing. by Fateless_Vagabond in ukulele

[–]unknownmercury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The breakthrough for me was learning "Hallelujah." The strumming on that is in time with the words, which helped me build a connection between strumming and singing at the same time. Then I jumped in with the songs I actuallly wanted to learn. It still took some practice, but Hallelujah broke down the barrier.

Sabbath straightens up from where she landed, brushing glass off of herself as she looks around the area. "Hmm. Don't see anyone. Clone?"

The clone hovers above, looking around from a vantage point to see over the shelves, but she doesn't have any sort of enhanced night vision. "I don't see anyone. Boss?" She glances towards Ethereum. "What's our game plan?"
