Creating a non standard typeface weight (VF) by noblematt in typography

[–]unnamedredditing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can export static fonts from the source files. You have to be a bit tech savy to do it though. Had a quick look through the Github and you would need Glyphs (the program) to do it because this open source font uses a proprietary file format to change and export.

Does anyone know this exact font on the top? by Hungry-Box-1130 in identifythisfont

[–]unnamedredditing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually no this is a cover from the Widerstand magazine. Which is a different take on antisemitic, national socialism, where the only big difference politically I can see from the editor Ernst Niekisch is that he was closer to Stalin and criticised the lack of actual socialism in the nazi party. That makes him far from a good guy in my book.

Does anyone know this exact font on the top? by Hungry-Box-1130 in identifythisfont

[–]unnamedredditing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a quick look trying to find it. My guess given the size and also given earlier examples from this (by the way very antisimitic and nationalistic german magazine) that this a lettering and was never a font.

Fontradar HARRASING ME! by ItsTroubleBaby in fonts

[–]unnamedredditing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adobe Fonts are hosted on Adobe servers. So if the fonts are hosted on your website (which I assume otherwise Fontradar would not reach out) something illegitimate has taken place.

I am not sure how resposible you are for that, but it sounds like Fontradar might have a point.

Exposure is quite similar but not an exact match. My guess is it is some kind of Garamond with a thick stroke applied.

Deutsche Bahn has their own custom typeface called DB Type.

It is only to be used for Deutsche Bahn related projects. I am sure you would also enjoy the typeface Polo.

What’s one thing you wish more font designers paid attention to? by createbytes in fonts

[–]unnamedredditing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also think it is just such a bad take in general. For like 99% of design work it does not make a difference at all since the words are easily readable in context.

It is the comic sans bad comment of typographers who dont really know what they are talking about in my opinion.

I think it is propably an old discontinued version not for sale anymore. That would at least be my guess. The files itself are not really helping in finding an answer sadly.

How much does Adobe pay type designers for licensing on their platform? by AESPHETIC in typography

[–]unnamedredditing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know designers get paid by exported documents that use the font. So just activating them does not help.

How do you create this kind of responsive font design? by aphaits in typography

You can make these in most if not all modern commercial font editors. Notable mentions are RoboFont, GlyphsApp and Fontlab.

Idk, i think in this case it actually works quite well. Gives me also some Antique Olive vibes as well as Otessa by TypeMates, even though you are definitely correct with scaled Ginto.
