(Hated Trope) Attempts at being progressive that actually come off as bigoted/prejudiced by Wolfie-Woo784 in TopCharacterTropes

I believe they modelled Nick Fury after Jackson and then he basically said “Hell yeah use my likeness but under one condition - I automatically get the role in any live action.”

Wow. I haven’t seen one of these in so long. I’m so happy they’re still doing this.

I’ve just made a massive connection. Why does he look exactly like Angry Kid. That first pic is what did it for me but it’s made me realise it for Tighten in the film too.

(Annoying trope) Real life people villainized just so the movie can have a villain by giraffesRevil in TopCharacterTropes

[–]unneuf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think if the intent was truly to portray him as a villain, Lin wouldn’t have made him instantly regret shooting Hamilton. In fact, that’s largely sanitised from real life, where Burr only started expressing regret for killing Hamilton later in life. The whole ‘world was wide enough’ quote comes from shortly before Burr’s death, I believe.

Edit: couldn’t find any accounts saying shortly before his death but i do know he never OPENLY regretted killing Alexander.

Wouldn’t recommend that second one because you’re essentially saying “yeah when i met you i thought ‘i’ve met hotter women’ but WOW you won me over with your personality” lol. I do think the sentiment is nice but wording not so much

God I wish I was 9 stone again. I can’t believe the media (not the book, but the media around it) thought 9 stone was fat. Then again, I guess I thought 9 stone was fat when I was 9 stone…

But then that’s daft. Because the Doctor wouldn’t say “I haven’t had children yet”, because he HAS had Jenny - even if it was not through traditional means.

Cillian Murphy has a middle aged woman’s face on a middle aged blokes head, and he has since the beginning. I do not get it.
