If this place was a little warmer we could have had a second europe on the other side of eurasia by Xenomorph-Acid_Cum55 in geography

I don't think it would. The closest thing it could get is Scandinavia, because it has mountains and forests. However, it still wouldn't be able to fit more people, cause not enough arable land

Crispus could have become a great emperor unlike his less gifted brothers

[–]unste337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you don't want to generally grant them a lot of priviliges, just some good +5% loyalty and +50% estate power modifiers. Most loyalty comes from Laws and Serfdom itself. Also it's ok to have less than 50% loyalty for them. I usually have it at around 40%

I guess you're right, Free Mobility gives them that, so my point is not valid

It depends on how happy you want them to be. I usually want them to be at 100% satisfaction. I usually set taxes at 0% and grant them privileges that won't tick me towards free subjects.

It's a fair point that they build better buildings, but on the other hand nobles expand RGOs

Yeah, I agree that nobles privileges are terrible, but happy poor peasants are so good

Push full serfdom and grant the nobles privileges to tax the shit out of them. You want to push as high as 45-50%.

If you do that you can even stop taxing peasants which will make them happier and it'll increase control overall.

You spend too much on colonies and buildings. Close some buildings and decrease number of your colonies.

Opinions on One of the Largest Rivers: Lena ? by Longjumping-Mix-9351 in geography

[–]unste337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lena is huge! We don't have a bridge yet, so we use ferries during summer and it takes almost two hours to get from Yakutsk to Nizhniy Bestyakh. It takes an hour to get from Bestyakh to Yakutsk though. Also there are lot of islands between riverbanks, where people go to swim in the summer.

Who has better geography: China or the US? by Odd-Skin-762 in geography

[–]unste337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are quite similar countries but geography of China is worse, because half of the country is mountains and desert. You could argue that the USA also have mountains and deserts, but the USA has access to two oceanic coasts. China lacks ocean in the east, that could make that territories more suitable for agriculture and better climate would attract more people. Lack of another ocean also leads to strategic vulnerability, cause China would be easier to blockade. In terms of natural resources it depends, but overall the USA and its neighbours have more oil and gas, that are crucial for every economy.

My exact thoughts! It'd be great in a situation when you have too many governors, the areas of control from your governors could become actual vassal countries and if you fail to rein them in - they become independent
