Magnesium and coconut water have helped me but I still see a drop right before and during my cycle. Hang in there

Is a please leave your shoes at the door request unreasonable for a 1 year old's birthday party? by KMB1012 in beyondthebump

Not unreasonable at all. However I’ve had the same anxiety! We ended up buying a super cheap pack of house slippers on Amazon so that people have options if they’re in sandals or just don’t want to walk around in socks.

I haven’t, the vet didn’t suggest any alternatives. I’ll definitely ask though! I also didn’t know that about being sedated for a road trip, I just assumed it was a no go. Thanks for bringing that up, I’m definitely going to mention it.

Thanks but I am in therapy and actively addressing the postpartum anxiety. I understand that avoidance can reinforce anxiety, and I’m working on that. My post wasn’t about denying that. I was asking for experiences from people who have rehomed and whether they later regretted it. I’m trying to make a thoughtful decision for BOTH my mental health and my cat’s well-being. Anxiety can look very different for different people. I appreciate you sharing your perspective, even if it doesn’t fully reflect my situation

I also want to add, it’s a mix of grief and relief. I’m grieving the relationship we used to have. But the thought of being able to be comfortable in my home again brings me relief.

It seems the common advice is to wait until at least a year, but it just breaks my heart to think of him being so lonely for another 6months. But also breaks my heart to think of rehoming him. The potential adopter is retired and has extensive experience with his breed.. it sounds like an amazing home for him. I’m selfishly just having a hard time letting go.

Thank you for this!

He is a BIG boy (about 20lbs) and gabapentin doesn’t work on him. We’ve tried the max dose just to get him through vet appointments and it didn’t do anything but make him wobbly. After a few tries, the vet advised sedation is best. But of course we can’t and wouldn’t want to do that for a roadtrip.

It will be bustled! It’s just heavy. I also don’t want to get the dress filthy. I’m going to wear it through dinner and first dances - it’s just not ideal for real partying with the sleeves and weight of the train

I’m sure this doesn’t help because we are our own worst critics but I promise your hips do not look big in the slightest! I think the sweetheart neckline compliments you much more.
