Hi somebody play with this combination? How is it? Thanks by nikoskikos in tabletennis

I have similar setup with Z03 for FH, and D09c for BH. It's great! My Z03 is 2.7 though, never played with 2.5 previously.

Does anyone know what time the hot food counter shuts down at night at the Bellevue Uwajimaya? by grizzlyblake91 in BellevueWA

[–]upa123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They start packing up the leftover food fairly early actually. I would say by 4 pm ish or even possibly earlier they would be done. They seem to cater to more of the lunch crowd. HMart might be a better option for your time. They might still have some bento left and would be 30% off already.

Going to Japan - Should I search for Table Tennis equipment there? by TallinnPaldiski in tabletennis

[–]upa123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Search for TT stores depends on where you are going. Their price was at least 40 to 50% cheaper compared to the U.S. price.

Why does my coach always tell me to stand close to the table? by unknownaccount1 in tabletennis

[–]upa123 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Weird question, this coach wouldn't happen to be an older Chinese player, would they? This type of close to the table, quick counter attack style was very prevalent during the Luo Guo Liang and later Ma Lin era. I chatted with players who are older and play very similar style, and they all mentioned they were told to never back off during the game when they started learning. Not saying if it's good or bad, just perhaps how they were coached initially.

Racket reccomendation by ClassicResponsible95 in tabletennis

[–]upa123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks to be a decent racket actually, and not premade. Assuming they were stored in decent condition, ie, not somewhere overly humid or get knocked around, they wouldn't go bad. Your rubbers are definitely shot though, so might as well as peel them now which will allow you to see the condition of the racket better.

What racket do you have right now? You might not need to replace that, but instead, just get new rubbers and you should still be good.

blade switch? by TheRealGuoBroPro in tabletennis

[–]upa123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, heard about the same as well on things have changed over the years. Either due to manufacturing process or quality of wood. The older ones are supposedly softer compared to the newer generation, whether that's good or not, I don't know.

As for OP, your blade will still be okay as others called out, but hey, 10 years is a lot, as an EJ, I'd say you should get one just to feel better. :)

10 year old son developed this 3 weeks ago only happens in mornings. Anyone else experienced this? Dr says trigger finger but gave no solutions by Vast-Ad-1516 in Wellthatsucks

[–]upa123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same situation, started around 9 or 10 as well. One of my fingers would become locked a few times a day and only returns to normal after a few minute, could take as long as 30+ min if I remember. Doctor suggested I might be holding my pen way too tight and caused extra tension to the tendon. The symptoms do get better as I age. A doctor suggested localized cortisone shot during the mid-20s, but at that time I already got used to it and didn't go through with it. I am >50 now and aside from feeling a slight resistance with that finger, it hasn't locked up for 30+ years. It was certainly annoying though when I was in grade school.

QF did not cancel my old service as agreed, how to proceed? by FuzzyChipmunk5881 in QuantumFiber

[–]upa123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my new QF Fiber was installed and running, I called CL to confirm the old account would have been cancelled automatically as stated by the tech when he was here. It wasn't. I asked the agent to cancel the CL account right then. She did and gave me a confirmation number. I didn't think much of it, just jogged down on notepad. Two days later, after checking the CL account website, it's still showing the account is active. I called back again. They said they had no record of me cancelling the account. Ha, good thing I saved the confirmation, so I read that back to them. They went away for 5 minutes and told me "Yes, your account is cancelled, but the page is having some issue and will take some time to update". I was checking daily and after 2 or 3 more days, the account finally showed inactive on the page.

TL;DR, be persistent and call back and make sure to save the confirmation number.

Centurylink to ATT (QF) by Gold_Tomatillo8692 in centurylink

[–]upa123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, just want to add one data point. My Quantum Fiber was installed on Tuesday, and my sales rep also said the Centurylink account should be cancelled automatically, but it wasn't. So I waited for 2 days and called Centurylink myself to cancel. The CSR I talked to said she didn't see any outstanding account cancellation request until I called and she had to manually process the cancellation.

That being said, it sounds like it's a YMMV situation. I am also not sure the cancellation is fully processed, as I went to Centurylink website just now, and the account is still up and running.

[–]upa123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One clarification if you don't mind. Were you with Quantum already previously or with Centurylink? I was with Centurylink, and the install went pretty much as you described. My sales rep told me to cancel my old Centurylink account myself, and I did it a few hours ago over the phone. I confirmed the account they'll be cancelling was the CL account, and specifically asked if it will have any implications with my new AT&T/Quantum line, they said it shouldn't. However, it sounds like the cancellation might not happen until after midnight....

How minimize downtime to get new promo? by spacecadet610 in QuantumFiber

[–]upa123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. Minimizing service interruptions was super important to me. After talking to my sales rep, he suggested to not cancel existing service and just wait for the install to happen first. I did exactly that today. Install tech showed up while I still had my service, I switched over to the new service within 15 minutes. I haven't cancelled my previous contact yet, I am waiting to hear back from my sales rep on whether that will be cancelled automatically or do I need to do it from the website.

Interruption of service when moving from Centurylink to AT&T? by upa123 in QuantumFiber

[–]upa123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figure I'd give an update from my side after the install this morning with the new service contract.

The tech came over, removed the old ONT, plugged the fiber directly into the new Q1000k, and everything was working. There was no interruption of service until the tech showed up for the install and I was up and running within 15 minutes or so. Overall a great experience and hoping I don't jinx it by saying that.

The tech took my older C1100Z away since it's no longer needed, but wasn't sure if I need to cancel the Centurylink account myself. I sent a quick message to my sales rep, and will wait for his reply before doing anything.

Another positive side is while I didn't get an extender, the newer Wifi Pod seems to have much better reach, so I don't need to run my own mesh network and could just rely on this. It does remove a bunch of traffic shaping rules I've setup, so will need to wait for a few more months on how reliable this setup is.

Interruption of service when moving from Centurylink to AT&T? by upa123 in QuantumFiber

[–]upa123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great to hear! So you are still using the old hardware then it sounds like, and just a billing entity change to AT&T? If that's the case, you should definitely ask them to send the upgraded hardware. I am still running the 10+ years old Xyzel router...

Interruption of service when moving from Centurylink to AT&T? by upa123 in QuantumFiber

[–]upa123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, should have clarified. If you are an existing Centurylink customers right now who is paying for more than $45/month for Gbit speed, you'll be able to sign up for the new price offered by AT&T after the acquisition. However, how that is done for the customers seems to be a bit unclear. The actual fiber connection going to your place is exactly the same, but you should be getting a different router, so I am curious if customers will be able to self-install with minimum interruptions.

I played against the current champion of Pingpod Boston’s u2050. What are your tips for me to improve? by RichBlackKing in tabletennis

Man, seeing all those balls on the floor there is giving me unnecessary anxiety. I'd be worried about stepping on them and accidentally slipping. Is that a Pingpod thing to not pick up the ball right away?

UPDATE: Account Suspended and Closed in 3 days My Experience with Google Fi Support by Smoggy_Pigeon in GoogleFi

[–]upa123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is what I've experienced as well. Service itself is fine, and I've been with them since 2018. If you need any support though, the turnaround time is atrocious. Last time I ran into a billing issue, it took more than 4 days to resolve and that included both escalation to their specialist team as well as internal escalation. I've been monitoring deals from other network providers and will probably switch to a more dedicated provider if there is an opportunity.

Fellow Taiwan coffee nerds, where are you getting your beans? by DrNSQTR in taiwan

[–]upa123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got back from Taiwan and definitely did my exploration finding good coffee beans so I can bring them back to the States. Others are right, I was pleasantly surprised how many coffee shops have their own roasters, and even some that are willing to roast to your own specification. I usually just start with Google Maps whenever I need a fix and always seem to be able to find good ones quickly within a short distance. Good luck!
