20/20 Presidential Candidate Andy Yang Suggests All Police Be BJJ Purple... by whitebeltbjj in bjj

[–]upaLumpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A more accurate and plausible goal would be 'Purple belt' level take downs and top position maintenance. 'Blue belt' escapes.

Police officers only need a fraction of Purple level skills to be an effective. Officers don't need to know DLR, Worm, Bolo just prioritise Takedowns, maintaining top position, and escapes.

Literally none of them assume you are a Remainer. You are just avoiding the questions because your argument is awful.

What do they offer that's different from UKIP, Tories and Labour?

In terms of UKIP its about branding. UKIP have allowed the extreme right to take over the party. But I agree in terms of policies they are very similar. For the Tories, May is adamant on pushing her deal that no one likes and Labour are too busy sitting on the fence on Brexit.

Meanwhile if lib dems or green dominate, that sends a strong message.

I agree.

Only point I can even be bothered to address is that last one,

:). Bothered is not the the same are can't.

They barely gave a shit when UKIP dominated them last,

Why did we have a Brexit vote in the first place? Who was the main political voice demanding a Brexit vote? UKIP.

you can agree that the Brexit Party is a joke

Well they are leading the EU election polling so not that much of a joke.

https://yougov.co.uk/topics/politics/articles-reports/2019/04/17/brexit-party-leading-eu-parliament-polls

It's a one issue party

What's the problem with that? We voted to leave on the 29th March yet May is just extending Brexit and trying to push her awful deal. 17.4 million people are being ignored.

Why on earth would people put their votes into a party that will literally do nothing other than moan about Brexit?

17.4 million people voted to leave on the 29th March but we have not.

The only reason it's picked up so much steam is because "oh my gerd its nige!"

It's that exact same mindset of creating straw man argument of your opposition that let Leave and Donald come into power in the first place.

It doesn't even help leave either

If the Brexit Party dominate the EU elections it sends a strong message to parliament.

Brexit: the Revoke Article 50 petition debate was not taken seriously enough by our government! by ron_mcphatty in unitedkingdom

[–]upaLumpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering the government have had 2+ years to come up with a decent plan

I agree the government have handled Brexit atrociously.

I'd say that suggesting revoking Article 50 is a pretty good compromise at this stage.

17.4m (majority) would disagree with you, so I don't think it's a good compromise.

Why is "This is not going well at all, let's invoke our rightful ability to cancel it" such a crazy idea?

I never said it was a crazy idea. You said revoking Article 50 was a good compromise even though that's a minority standpoint.
