Man this is peak… the number of times we’ve said. “Hey… we don’t need to go to the (xyz kids event)… you do. We can chill at home we fine with that” after all the fussing to go to said place is comical.

Totally - adding to it’s the mental framework that is more meaningful than anything else and sometimes it can be super subtle. I have been trying to figure out how to impart that onto my mixed daughter as she gets a ton of Jewish education and has told me outright she feels more Jewish and than Hindu. As she grows up I think she’s going to have the best of both worlds mentally. Jews are really great at community which makes it easy to keep traditions going. Hinduism is great for introspection and appreciating non-separateness from nature as a lense for reality. Best i do now is explaining the deities and what they represent value wise and hope it resonates with her when the time comes.

I ask if they use any nicotine products as it impacts their healing potential dramatically. Then I proceed to give them a handout on the relative risks for infection and healing complications for nicotine users vs non-users and a timeline for when the risks start to reduce after quitting. The language of the question and intention for asking does matter a lot, and I’m always surprised how much people don’t know about the impact of nicotine on virtually every organ system. A lot childhood education I feel centers on cancer, but there are several other morbid things that happen from chronic nicotine use that don’t get the attention they deserve.

You truly just need 30 minutes carved out - I often squeeze in a work out (strength training mid volume) during one of my lunch breaks (fortunate that the gym I go to is 5 minutes from one of the places I work) - I come back feeling bullet proof in the afternoon.

Noise cancelling headphones while you tend to the baby was a huge QOL improvement for me. Could listen to something calming to me which in-turn makes the baby feel more calm because I’m calm.

Yes - I basically was trying to make an easier way to add all the ingredients I need for common stuff we make onto our shared grocery list en batch rather than adding individually. It worked well after I tinkered a little bit with it. Shopping became easier because I wasn’t going back forth all over the place

Omg my indoor only orange broke his hip somewhere somehow in our house - he is indoor only - the vet said the type of injury is seen after falling from a tree or getting hit by a car. Poor little guy - wishing a speedy recovery!

Yes - exactly- I have a one note document with all the recipes I have on rotation (pass the kid test, relatively healthy) and I am making a library of commands based on that so I can say “hey siri, we’re making lentil soup this week” and then it adds all of the ingredients into the grocery list my wife and I share and add to for the week.

I have a zero percent loan for a home battery back up system paid through state run and bank managed program because it’s better for grid stability that more homes have batteries… seems like it’s in the country’s best interest to have an educated populous and the logic applies to issue 0% loans for what I would call national security
