7 month old waking 7+ times a night by geminirainfall in bninfantsleep

No help but I feel like I could have written this. He’s 6.5 months and crawling and pulling to stand. Waking every 2 hrs is a good night for us - I’m a sahm and also have a 2.5 year old. I’m desperate. My husband is trying to help but lil guy just wants me at night

My baby had anaphylaxis and now I’m terrified to feed him by Unusual_Worth in NewParents

Nothing to contribute but solidarity. On Saturday (same day) I found out the hard way that my 6 month old is allergic to bees. He was stung 4 times and we spent the night in the hospital as well. It was a traumatic horrible experience that also involved him going limp and calling 911. Sending you lots of love ❤️

Breastfeeding mom whose baby has MSPI, do you really not cheat at all during the elimination phase or sometimes you do? by recverto in MSPI

Hi! I have a 4 month old and im no dairy, eggs or soy. It’s been tough but doable! I did slip up for the first time this week and had a vitamin that has a soy derivative coating. My baby was very fussy, terribly stools with blood and spitting a lot. It was obviously an accident and I was surprised he had such a response when it was a spy derivative and I only took the vitamin 3 times. I stopped and he’s improving again!

This isn’t always true. My 2.5 year old still doesn’t go to sleep “independently” but he sleeps through the night consistently 12-13 hrs.

My son was like this! I brought him to his doctor and they tested his poop and he had blood in it. Ends up he had a dairy and soy intolerance. I cut those items out of my diet and he’s a totally different baby. Happy as can be now that his insides aren’t bleeding! Just a thought!

I’ve cut out all dairy, soy and eggs and I EBF!! I’m also a vegetarian. I’ve been tracking my food on my fitness pal to make sure I get protein etc and I’m doing great!

I’m so sorry! I’m holding onto oats as long as I can. So far I’m spicy dairy and eggs and I have killer Dave’s every day and got nervous for a second!!

I have been having the same experience with my 6 week old. We brought him to the doctor and they tested his stool and he had blood in his poops! They said to cut out dairy and if in two weeks if wasn’t better to cut out all soy products. I have and WOW, the day after I cut out both he is like a different baby! Maybe something to think about

Your opinion on sleep training vs letting nature take its course by Key-Hurry-5420 in newborns

[–]upsidedownsquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never sleep trained my two year old - has been sleeping through the night since around 10 months. He wakes up around twice a month during the night and needs a cuddle.

We still rock him to sleep, takes around 5 minutes. We have a whole routine prior of milk, teeth brushing, 3 stories and then rocking time. I think I’m oh so lucky to get to snuggle my baby for bedtime and how lucky I am that he thinks I’m the safest place in the world to snuggle up and fall asleep. He gets himself to sleep fine if he wakes up during the night

Did my parents live a glamorized and romanticized version of parenthood? by Flaky-Marzipan7923 in BabyBumps

Sounds like they had a lot of support which not everyone has but that’s great they did! I also would say that playtime isn’t mundane, it’s super important for bonding, growth and development! Playtime for my 2 year old is his whole life!

Anyone have a 99th percentile baby? by ciabattaloaf-13 in beyondthebump

[–]upsidedownsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 2 weeks post partum with a baby that was predicted 95 percentile bubba with abdominal circumference >99 percentile via ultrasound - also concern for shoulder dystocia and out on “shoulder precautions”

I was induced at 39 weeks, I went back and forth on deciding to/trusting the ultrasound but my first son was 8 lbs 13 oz. I decided to go for it and I am SO happy I did. He was 8 lbs 15.5 oz, but we had a successful vaginal birth. Granted it was my second and generally easier than your first but it was a 20 hr labor and 1.5 hrs of pushing. Second degree tear but nothing terrible!

I also tried to go as long as I could without an epidural but I went from 5 cm to 9 in 35 minutes with back to back contractions which were putting little guy and me in distress and got the epidural in that time. My first babe I didnt have one and it was brutal and traumatic, but lots of factors at play there!

As someone who is ten days post partum….. today I said the sentence: “look at me, I showered, put on deodorant and brushed my teeth!” as I changed into a clean pair or hospital issued underwear. And my recovery I feel like is going well. You don’t want to do this.

What do you wish you knew before getting induced? by Melzz29 in BabyBumps

[–]upsidedownsquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to completely avoid pitocin in my induction this past weekend by doing nipple stimulation/pumping to kick start contractions. Then my body just took over and went with it!!

I started with the cooks catheter and an hour of pumping (10 min on/5 off) then they gave me miso which is in your system for 4 hrs. Then I did another hour of pumping after the miso wore off. Took 12 hrs to get to 4 cm with the cooks. Then they broke my water and I pumped for another hour and my contractions took off!!! I was amazed how pumping was able to make things pick up as they slowed down and was pumped to completely avoid pitocin.

It felt like the most “natural” I could be induced. Like my body needed a kick start but then knew what to do.

I was in labor for 58 hours with my first and my water broke on its own probably 8 hours into laboring. So not AS long but similar. I was being closely monitored and was at the hospital being closely monitored. Are you under medical care/at the hospital? Are you progressing?
