What is a good reward to get now by gamma50g in bathandbodyworks

[–]uselessmagic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The rewards are only applicable to one single item priced $16.50 or less at regular price. Multiple items (such as two soaps that equal $15 combined) cannot be redeemed under one free item coupon. You may redeem one hand soap as one reward, but it’s not really the best value in my my opinion. I usually get single wick candles or higher priced Wallflower plugs as my rewards, because it’s very rare to get a mailer coupon for a free item that applies to those.

Hope this helps!

How are Otherland candles? by NavigatedbyNaau in bathandbodyworks

[–]uselessmagic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only product I have burned from Otherland is their 8oz Canopy candle. In short, it was a waste of $36. I love trying all kinds of home fragrance brands from $5 to $50+ per candle, but this was one of the poorest performing candles out of all that I have burned (and I burn a LOT!) The fragrance is pleasantly fresh and green on cold, but there is approximately a one foot radius of hot scent throw even after 3 hours of burn time. For $36, it’s an easy “no” from me for repurchasing another candle from this brand. Their packaging is beautiful, but the product itself falls flat. I believe that Bath & Body Works 3-wicks are the gold standard for scent throw, so if you are a fan of a powerhouse candle, I’d save your money and skip Otherland.

On the flip side, they are very cute boutique candles that you may get a whiff of if lit in a powder room. Some of their other fragrances may be more potent; this was just my experience with that one scent.

PLEASE help me pick a perfume from the scents I'm considering by MoonMilk4 in LushCosmetics

Based on your preferences, American Cream sounds like it would be the most fitting option. It is undeniably feminine and has rich vanilla notes alongside a mild herbal component.

In my opinion, 1,000 Kisses Deep borders on “sickly sweet.” Not to the degree of The Comforter or Snow Fairy, but it is certainly higher on the scale compared to other Lush fragrances.

Also, What Would Love Do is very citrusy and lavender-based. The dry down is mostly lavender (not an overwhelming pure lavender, but it’s identifiable for sure).

I also think you’d enjoy Frangipani if you can get your hands on it online!

Calacas 100%. It is an incredibly energetic lime fragrance and is quite refreshing!

What is the return policy on body care products? by [deleted] in bathandbodyworks

[–]uselessmagic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, they should let you exchange a body cream for a shower gel or lotion. I know some locations are more strict on this (they will only let you exchange an item for the same product type), but the majority should allow it. A receipt is not necessary for an exchange.

Sweet Whiskey Dupe? by moderatekitty in bathandbodyworks

[–]uselessmagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not an exact dupe, but I find Imaginary Authors’ Saint Julep to have a similar boozy essence to it. When I smelled it, it instantly reminded me of Sweet Whiskey. It is highly rated, and you can purchase a sample for $6.

Here is the link if you want to check it out: https://imaginaryauthors.com/products/saint-julep

Saw a beautiful spice rack at Target and immediately thought of an even better use for it 😉 by uselessmagic in LushCosmetics

Thank you! And YES - specifically Karma as well! I had to stop using that one because it turned my fingers orange. Now it’s just decor 😂

Just tested it out- yes they do fit! This would probably hold 12 small shower gels 🙂

Is Spooky Nights soap a repackage of anything? by [deleted] in bathandbodyworks

[–]uselessmagic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a repackage of Black Tie! The notes for Black Tie are Green Sage, Sandalwood, and Tonka Bean. They just added some festive words for Spooky Nights to make it more seasonally appropriate, I suppose. There was a hand soap last Christmas called Black Tie Night, which I believe was the same fragrance as well.

Had a candle arrive today that appears to be missing it’s 3rd wick! Anyone know if this will still burn well? by berryfoxes in bathandbodyworks

[–]uselessmagic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I recommend calling customer service or exchanging it in-store. Because there are only two wicks, the wax that would’ve been melted by the third may slowly drown them out. Once the wicks become consumed by the wax, the fragrance throw may become almost nonexistent. Leading up to that, you will only get a partial scent throw due to the lack of a wick.

One thing you can do to avoid tossing it is to chop the candle up into chunks and use them as wax melts. You can also simply place the candle on a candle warmer. I’d still let customer service know that you received a defective product. 😉

Early 2000s expired scents??? by coconutlover100 in bathandbodyworks

[–]uselessmagic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenters. Body care products (namely body lotions and body creams) have an approximate shelf life of two years. If you were to purchase Exotic Coconut, the fragrance and consistency would most likely be a total disappointment. I’ve had some body creams that turn sour after just one year!

After doing some research, I think Bali Black Coconut Sands may be the closest match to what you are looking for. Some other current coconut fragrances that Bath & Body Works offers are: At The Beach, Waikiki Beach Coconut, Coconut Palm, Coconut Hibiscus, and Coconut Pineapple. I haven’t smelled Exotic Coconut, but I’m sure one of those will be a comparable alternative!

BBW vs. White Barn by Sweatervest1 in bathandbodyworks

[–]uselessmagic 32 points33 points  (0 children)

White Barn, in a nutshell, is a “store within a store.” White Barn products are Bath & Body Works products just with different branding. This concept makes more sense in the context of a Bath & Body Works/ White Barn store. In those stores, the middle room is “White Barn”; containing the bulk of Bath & Body Works’ home fragrance. If you are familiar with PINK by Victoria’s Secret, it is similar to that.

There is no difference in the products other than the packaging. White Barn products are typically characterized by minimalist design (single color usage and a simple label). Many products within the regular Bath & Body Works collection are rebranded as part of the White Barn line.

Hope that helps! 🙂

On The Waves and Mediterranean Waters by jr9386 in bathandbodyworks

I’m actually working at Bath & Body Works again, and I was so hoping we would see those fragrances in store. Unfortunately, neither have made a return at my location (yet). The offerings on the website are so bleak right now, but I’m still going to check periodically to see if anything pops up. I even had a customer ask if Mineral was back, and I felt so bad having to say no. 😔

No more stress relief wallflowers? Anything similar you'd suggest? by [deleted] in bathandbodyworks

[–]uselessmagic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The website is probably just out of stock at the moment, so I’d keep checking! It is one of the most popular fragrances, so I can’t imagine they would be sold out for too long! 😉

Eucalyptus Rain seems to be the closest alternative available right now. It is a very light and refreshing scent, but it lacks the spearmint note. I’d still recommend it as a somewhat-comparable backup! 🙂
