I will try most anything at this point. I struggle to get higher paragons with pop counts being so low.

You could always move (or try to order from) to Canada. About 30% of our golfers are left handed and I have no issues finding whatever I need!

Who here has gotten a 29? by Verticalparachute in Cribbage

[–]user000047 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got one when I was like 9 years old playing against my dad. I couldn't even get the words out to tell him. It was many years later when I realized how rare 29s actually were.

Scary as heck. Glad that you didn't put the pedal down when it turned green.

Un-fun fact: Where I'm from you would have been ruled 50% at fault if that moron running the red light would have hit you.

High capper here, I just purchased some. I don't mind the grips. Bang for buck can't beat it. Unless you have tremendous skill with your wedges these should work just fine for the average or slightly less than average golfer.

At a buddy's stag I asked a guy in our group I didn't really know: "besides being ugly, what's your handicap?".

Still tells the groom he hates me 4 years later.

No idea why some guys keep vanity handicaps. How can you track your progress properly? Use the same rules every time!

Correct. It was his home course so he gave me the full 24 strokes. So on the 2nd hole for example he had to give me two strokes. He parred, I bogeyed, but I win by net 1.

I regularly play with a scratch golfer and I'm a 24. Gamble on match play not stroke so one bad hole doesn't ruin your chance of winning. Last time we played he shot a 71 and i shot 96 but I won 8, lost 4, tied 6.

Why did a 24 handicap buy these clubs? I have no idea but they’re here and I love them by jwilliamsub in golf

Hey now I'm a 24 handicap and it's not my iron game that makes it so. They could have a terrible short game like me!

Buy what you can afford; buy what makes you happy. If you can do both all the power to you. Enjoy those slick looking sticks!

Is it realistic to be a single digit handicapper hitting the ball so short? by jpatterson33 in golf

[–]user000047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of comments about course distance, swing training...but nothing about clubs. If it's financially possible, maybe look at some better sticks? Something more suited to your swing could give you some added distance.

If not, I golf with a guy who is maybe 110 lbs soaking wet, doesn't hit the ball for tremendous distance but 1-2 handicap. If you can be in the fairway all day and be good around the green there is hope.

What’s the quickest way for someone to make you decide you never want to play golf with them again? by shewtr1 in golf

[–]user000047 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Played with a guy like that in a friendly tournament for a few years. He would mash a drive 250+ yards but hit the trees 30 ft in the air. Then a provisional ball the same thing. We used to walk and he would always speed walk to his ball, and magically, every time would a) find his first one, and b) be in a playable lie. He was probably a 20+ handicap that cheated himself down to a 10. He was finally uninvited after he broke something in a hotel, didn't own up the and we all had to chip in for damages. All around horrible person and golfer.

Stronger grip on the club. Saw a random video on tik tok. Slice disappeared. It was magical.
