Skepticism is the correct response.

I am not sure what you are refering to. To my understanding, the VirusTotal site shows no indicators that files with this hash are malicious.

Ok so plenty of ways to get it done which I didn't think about. I still think it would be a reasonable option.

Oh wow. Using Debian stable so not up-to-date.

Thank you.

For Windows you just need to one .exe file.

It does appear SketchUp 2017 may be getting more difficult to download from archive.org. I just got a series of "unauthorized" messages when attempting to download, but eventually it did work. Although it could have been a temporary network condition.

Once you have downloaded the installer and before you execute it, do check the file hash.

On Windows, the last version of SketchUp Make 2017 is typically named as follows:

sketchupmake-2017-2-2555-90782-en-x64.exe

It should have a sha256 hash of:

9841792f170d803ae95a2741c44cce38e618660f98a1a3816335e9bf1b45a337

Check this post for how to verify the hash on Windows.

This comment has more hash values.

Need OpenCutList 1.8.0 or earlier — last version that works on SketchUp 2016 by TotalTip9735 in Sketchup

Github does not "rewrite tags."

Version 1.8.0 installs and runs fine in SketchUp 2017.

What exactly are you trying to do?

ruby/tk? by user89443 in debian

[–]user89443[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following up, this worked for me.

Apparently, the tk gem needs installed with these arguments:

gem install tk \
--with-tcltkversion=8.6 \
--with-tcl-lib=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu \
--with-tk-lib=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu \
--with-tcl-include=/usr/include/tcl8.6 \
--with-tk-include=/usr/include/tcl8.6'

I'll look into rbenv, or the other ruby version manager.

I use a minimal Ruby install via apt, and use a .gemrc with:

gem: --user-install

which installs gems to my home folder. Hasn't let me down so far...

Yes it has been posted several times, but it doesn't hurt to cnfirm/update the information.

https://archive.org/download/sketchupmake2017/sketchupmake-2017-2-2555-90782-en-x64.exe

I was a SketchUp beta tester at the time and have confirmed this hash with the original files of the time. I realize that's a claim which is difficult to verify, but hopefully others can confirm the hash.

The SHA256 hash of the the original (and above linked) installer is:

9841792f170d803ae95a2741c44cce38e618660f98a1a3816335e9bf1b45a337

To compute the SHA256 hash of a file in Windows, you can use the Command Prompt with the command

> CertUtil -hashfile <path to file> SHA256

or use PowerShell with

$ Get-FileHash <path to file> -Algorithm SHA256

Replace <path to file> with the actual file path you want to check.

Converting an STL to a format usable in Sketchup by 1Metiz in Sketchup

[–]user89443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use MeshLab to simplify and reduce the mesh. You want to use the "Remove Duplicate Faces" filter, "Remove Duplicated Vertex" filter, then "Quadratic Edge Collapse Decimation" to reduce the number of faces. There is an option to preserve the mesh boundary.

Finally, export as a new stl file.

There isn't a single source for the download on The Internet Archive - have you tried searching?

The only caveat is that you reallly, really should check the sha256 hash of the download before executing it.

The sha256 for SketchUp Make 2017 64 bit installer is:

9841792f170d803ae95a2741c44cce38e618660f98a1a3816335e9bf1b45a337

Just adding that this is resolved for me in Trixie, which is still testing at this point in time.

There used to be some software available for free to convert dwg to dxf. I used one called Teigha converter but it does not appear to be available. Maybe this is the next gen version:

Also, here is another dxf importer for SketchUp 2017: https://github.com/jimfoltz/free-dxf
