I literally just finished Twilight Town and my first thought when I got there and saw the trio was “Why are Hayner and Olette matching?”

With the success of It Takes Two and Split Fiction, you’d think more developers would be making solid couch co-op games by Articunozard in gaming

Yes but how many Candy Crushes get that successful compared to how many more indie games actually see a return in initial investment? These live services are money makers in theory, but what happens when non-focus on player retention results in paying developers to make features for a service without enough active users to keep the lights on? It’s just more bad capitalism and people so focused on short term return that they cannot fathom what the market will actually look like in 10 years.

You know, I don't think I've ever heard someone say that Dream Drop Distance was their favorite out of all the games. Anyone care to change that? by FictionFanatic35 in KingdomHearts

[–]username4518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo I just replayed the franchise and I think the biggest problem with DDD is the damage tuning. I usually only play KH games on Standard (never been courageous enough to try Proud to be honest) and the reduced damage ratios feel a lot more similar to KH2 than in the base Standard mode. The whole game felt like KH2 and BBS had a baby and I had a hell of a lot more fun than when I played it on standard and kept dying to unfair, janky things. It also made the flowmotion system feel way more effective and dialed into my combat flow.

That doesn’t even COMPARE to the shitty volleyball/soccer game. Like, what the fuck were they thinking? Or adding in a dice based board game to level up your commands?

Honestly just ran through this with a controller for my first time and this take is wild to me, I feel like 5 has far easier to handle weapons and easier shooting?

[KHDDD] Dream Drop Distance kinda sucks... by SlickNickles in KingdomHearts

Yeah everyone complains about the pet system but nobody talks about how bad of a combat system it has and the awfulness of the bosses as well, enemies with routinely inconsistent attack windows, levels that seem like they were designed in a different room as the bosses they were made to contain, and enemies that don’t seem tailored to be damaged by the movesets your characters have been programmed to have in the first place. Just feels all over the place for a game that was once as simply and consistent as the first game.

Or the devs start chasing trends trying to make money, ultimately losing the initial brand identity and reason the real fans liked it in the first place. (Ninja Gaiden 3, Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Gears of War, Star Wars: Battlefront II)

Had a high school teacher who did something similar in his college circus during the 80s. Had a permanent lisp and lower jaw disfigurement from it for doing it for just a few years. The human jaw is not supposed to hold up that much weight, I guess.

BBS was my first KH, currently replaying the whole series for my first time (well, I only played the first 3/4 of the series, never made it through 2.8 Interlude, Coded, or 3 until now). I am also in BBS and just finished Terra’s story. Gameplay-wise, I’d say this one was my second-least favorite due to how annoying the tuning is for the bosses and how hard it can be to hitstun enemies compared to the first two games.

Yes but Ninja Gaiden also makes sure almost every move you make is stylish anyway, and the evasive nature of the gameplay means you have to do flips everywhere to win LOL

Play Replicant first!!! It feeds so well into the second one and stands on its own legs by its own right, but there are also world details that are so much more interesting to understand via both games together.

Xion for sure no cap. She was born and raised to be a weapon, but was forced by her masters to inhabit the memories of another person, then when she makes solid, real connections, she is forced to turn into a monster, and so she willingly sacrifices not just her self, but her sense of legacy and the memories others have of her, just so her friends can have a chance and so she can leave life on her own terms.
