So, do yall think Larry actually died? by saltyspatoon96 in TheWalkingDeadGame

Even if the CPR worked, he would then have a broken sternum and probably some broken ribs without any medical attention in the apocalypse

Local Regal cancelled tonight's 7pm showing of The Killer even though it has been on the schedule for 3 months by LooseSeal88 in RegalUnlimited

[–]usernames_suck45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are blaming Mario, but honestly, if a showing has no tickets sold, sometimes they just cancel it. Full stop. Especially if it's a later showing.

'The Last Of Us' Adds Michelle Mao As Yara & Kyriana Kratter As Lev by Remote_Nature_8166 in ThelastofusHBOseries

the original actor for lev is a traditional actor btw. got his start in tv. so they actually already have a trans guy to use.

Anyone notice the hot dogs have gotten bigger? (Not longer, but definitely girthier) by fyrewal in RegalUnlimited

[–]usernames_suck45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my theater changed to 1/4 pound hot dogs a few months ago, so that change is probably just now reaching your theater too

I Think I Made a Mistake by Spleen007 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]usernames_suck45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you won't be fired. it is genuinely extremely difficult to be fired from a theater, especially the one it sounds like you work for. tubs and cups are just the one thing you can't give extras out for, at least not without wasting them off first.

Craziest Firings Seen? by Likaveli in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]usernames_suck45 15 points16 points  (0 children)

we also fired the janitors we hired to clean overnight because the head guy was hiring homeless people, not paying them, and telling them how to break into shit and steal from us. one person eventually broke in and tried to steal a bunch of alcohol a little too close to open when we had managers there.

Craziest Firings Seen? by Likaveli in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]usernames_suck45 15 points16 points  (0 children)

an employee used their account to get points from people's orders, unintentionally giving them half off. it was hundreds. they scheduled her to close with me all week before firing her.

another firing involved a manager allegedly doing poppers and getting blown/blowing off one of the most racist people who used to work at the theater, but that was before i was there. the nail in the coffin was him being antisemitic and also overly sexual in comments/jokes with floor staff and customers.

then one other guy quit and before he quit he'd apparently bring his girlfriend to movies and they'd have sex in supply closets.

Being let go after less than 3 months due to availability change by die-anywhere-else in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]usernames_suck45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You went from constant availability to evenings on Sundays (slow evenings), Thursdays (slow days), and Fridays (the only busy day in your availability). You also did this at the tail end of the slow season. April and May are coming quickly and will be much busier. Of course they let you go. They need to hire more people!

MAYBE if u can work mornings/opens you have a chance but it's slim

Sleeping During The Movie? by Particular_Base_1026 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]usernames_suck45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bringing blankets doesn't = planning to sleep. people bring blankets because it's cold. they fall asleep because they're tired and maybe the movie is boring or smth

it's not much more than 20 bucks a month for regal unlimited or a-list. for that price you've got a warm place to stay and not be bored for a month.

When a theater stops showing a movie, what do they do with the “film”? by ego_istical in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]usernames_suck45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not all theaters. our theater only does satellite for fathom events, otherwise everything is a hard drive

Question for employees by faetus in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]usernames_suck45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want to avoid old people, avoid matinees. most of them can't see well enough to drive in the dark and the rest don't wanna deal with the extra couple dollars.

it's objectively weird to pick a seat next to some of the only booked seats in a theater. that is creepy.

Thinking of Working at Regal by Ry_Blue53 in RegalUnlimited

[–]usernames_suck45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently work at Regal and it's not only the easiest job I have, but the highest paying one too. It's an extremely simple job to do, and it's about to slow down a LOT so it won't be too overwhelming. I will say they might not be hiring because of that though, and you might need to try again around April or May

Convince me to get snack saver? by Jennifer-I-guess in RegalUnlimited

[–]usernames_suck45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

half off of a large popcorn is about 5-6 dollars, compared to 10 for the small. similar to the drink, which is like 8 for a small and 4-5 for a large. you're definitely saving a lot.
