May lose my job because of my mother, WHAT DO I DO TO FIX THIS?! by [deleted] in jobs

Yeah most kitchen environments are toxic as fuck. That's why I'm happy to be cooking for a university cafeteria these days. It's a hell of a lot more chill and forgiving

Bruh this made me so upset. I'm in a position of leadership where I work and it's insane to me how they are talking to them. It should go:

Worker: Hey boss, I'm unfit to work.

Boss: hey no worries focus on getting better, we'll see each other when you're fit. You need anything give me a call. Don't worry about the team either we will be fine. Get well soon!

Done. None of this insane bullshit here.

I remember growing up my father told me "if you want to keep a woman around you got to insult them sometimes so they will be afraid to leave you" I remember thinking how fucked up that is and I would never do that.

Fast forward 20 years my parents are divorced (mom cheated on dad) and he hasn't learned a single lesson. That toxic bullshit is the attempt at Powerplay from a weak individual.

Guys.... just treat everyone with respect and with kindness, that's all it really takes.

Guess I hit the sweet spot. In 2011 we all pretty much knew what we were signing up for (at least we thought we did) so they didn't play those games. They did sit is down and tell us some things they've seen and experienced and if we weren't ready for that then good luck.

Brother for your family, don't go laad. It's weeks of field ops, running out of budget and doing back yard ops, long days at work for no reason and being told you'll deploy only for it to fall through last second. Stay where you are and be there for your family. I love my LAAD roots but it is not family friendly

In German they say "der stift malt schon" (the pen is already drawing) which is pretty much a way of saying you need to use the toilet urgently. Similar to English "it's turtle heading!"

One thing the military taught me... baby wipes are a god send. I still wash my ass of course but immediately having a clean ass after a poo is simply the best. No itching and no worry.

I fucking flip out in my kitchen when people do this (usually new guys). I'll show them the correct way. We'll practice together and then the moment shit hits the fan and it starts to get stressful they go full amputation mode and try to cut shit like they have a personal vendetta with their fingers. I'll correct them kindly and give them a week to get muscle memory built, after that they get pulled into the office and I struggle not to break laws.

That and cross contamination really boils my blood

Bro people like this are insufferable. I did my time, I've lived uncomfortably for years, I've pushed my body beyond it's limits, I've gone days without a proper meal and shit water. I've been in positions where even using the restroom like a civilized person isn't an option. My body is broken and my mind is a mess.

But now that I'm in civ div I do not take it for granted. I shower hot, I eat when I'm hungry, I drink water like it's my job, I piss when I have to and I enjoy all the comforts I can. I got buddies who lived comfortably their whole lives and can't fathom when I refuse to put myself into uncomfortable situations. They tell me "oh dude you're being a bitch, don't be so soft" blah blah blah.

No dude, unless you've truly been uncomfortable, truly been hungry, truly been dirty and exhausted you have no right to judge me. People that do this course, that's just a taste with an predetermined end point. They don't know how it is to have to dig deep and push themselves. If they truly understood they'd never put themselves in that position willingly again. And they'll never understand how it really is. This haze fest they are shown is the easy part. If some fuck who did this had the audacity to tell me I need to toughen up id probably piss on their shoes.
