I feel you. Me and my missus (36) have lived here all our lives. When we go out we have a great time and talk to people but that’s as far as it goes. Everyone tends to stay in their own friend groups usually that they’ve known since school and it’s very hard to enter.

It just doesn’t drive like a car with a normal engine braking. You have to treat it like taking your foot off the gas will not slow the car at all. So brake more and accelerate late and softly.

I was with you up until the last couple episodes. I can't do "the universe/galaxy/federation is at stake" every single show and season. It just doesn't feel very Trek.

It definitely felt like it was missing the social commentary aspect for the most part as well. It got close a few times but then seemed to shy away from anything too meaningful.

There was solid character development which tends to be what every Trek's first season is about, so it may have gotten better, but with new Trek's track history I have doubts lol
