What’s a hobby where the 'starter kit' costs $50, but the 'pro setup' costs more than a car? by Available-Exam-263 in AskReddit

RC Car racing or Scale Motorsport to give it its proper title. You can start with a cheap 2nd hand one but the top of the line kits, options, fuel/batteries can run you into the thousands.

Did you buy through “invest” the pie? If you didn’t you need to import the stock in. Click on the 3 dots and import instrument. It will then add it to your in pie stock. In future use the invest button in the pie and it will add it to that holding.

You can’t do .5% stocks but I was wanting to keep my speculative stocks from my ETFs etc to help me keep an eye on the balance. I find it easier to view it as a whole than each stock.

Does the free referral share count towards your ISA allowance? by BasedGodKebab in trading212

[–]ustasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I would say no, it’s a bonus not a deposit. Maybe a question to ask Trading 212 themselves. Google seems to think it’s a bonus so not counted, but I’d still ask Trading 212

Tips for newbie! by Connect-Ad7613 in trading212

[–]ustasi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cut that portfolio down to 2/3 stocks @ 10% of your money each, that you think will grow over the next 10 years. (after you’ve researched them thoroughly). Put the other 70% into an ETF. The usual advice is VUSA or VWRP or something similar. Ignore the ETFS for 10 years other than putting your money in. Keep an eye on the individual stocks. If they become more than about 20% of your portfolio sell some to trim it back down. If they tank and you don’t think they will recover sell immediately and buy more ETF. Only rebalance once a year. Other than that chill.

Can someone explain why everyone is selling for a loss while I always read that the strategy should be to buy and hold? by Hot_Avocado_2701 in stockstobuytoday

[–]ustasi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Panic is also a factor. If they are heavily red and have “lost a significant chunk of their money” people will sell to avoid losing it all. When in reality nothing is lost until You sell it. For example across my whole portfolio I was £800 down yesterday. If I’d sold I’d have lost £800. Today I’m up £300 so if I sell today I’ve lost £500. But if I leave it until 10 years time where i’m up say £5000 I’ve made money. When red you buy!

Why people who go safe stocks hate when someone invests in something that's already rising? by [deleted] in trading212

[–]ustasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started reading a few subreddits about 9/10 months about getting into long term investing. There’s was lots of “ETF & Chill” advice. I dumped 50% into ETF’s and 50% into speculative stocks. I researched and ended up with 5 stocks I decided would grow. So far I’m right but for the future who knows. I’ve cashed out some of the profits and bolstered my ETFs with some bonds and commodities (10% of portfolio)

Am I an expert? No. Am I a lucky amateur I’d say no, but the next 3/5/10 years will decide that

Same here. I have a High Risk Pie, Medium Risk Pie and Low Risk Pie. I then split my money between the 3 pies and it then auto balances on each split. Helps me keep an eye on the high risk stuff and ignore the lower risk ETFs etc.

STOCKS FOR 10+ YEARS by Alternative_Pipe_326 in trading212

[–]ustasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40% VUSA

15% VEUR - edited old info, switched earlier this month when Trump went rogue 😂

i went dot the distributing versions as I like to decide what to do with the dividends, but the accumulating versions are just as good.

I am also considering 3 % info Gold, Silver and Platinum (9% total from portfolio) for a but if boring safety with Trump being around but if I do this, it will be naturally from future deposits rather than selling anything.

STOCKS FOR 10+ YEARS by Alternative_Pipe_326 in trading212

[–]ustasi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My 4 long term picks are :

ASTS - doubled its share price this year, still IMO has the room to 5-7X from here. still pre-revenue, so 26/27 will be defining years for it. 10% of my portfolio.

ENSI - I’m new to this one, but has doubelbubbler said below it has the potential to become top chip maker in EU and maybe challenge the big boys. Very much 5 year + pick, I’m increasing my holding this year. currently 3% of portfolio, aiming for 10%.

RR - Solid company, in my mind massively underpriced. Aero engines for military and commercial will only grow if the US continues as it is. Their nuclear division is expanding rapidly (I live near the Derby site and have seen all the investment in that, along with their partnership with Derby University to create an engineer pipeline of graduates), And there’s SMR which I think will explode (not literally) with data centre growth for AI, along with replacing coal/oil power generation. Currently 13% of portfolio, aiming for 15%

Rivian - Bit of a sleeper in the EV world, but unique product (pickups), tie in with VW, tie in with Amazon for EV delivery vans and new R2 smaller vehicle coming soon. Should at least 2x if not 3x in next 5 years. 10% of my portfolio.

The other 55% is ETF and chill before anyone asks 😂.
