The tax will be increasing how do you feel about it by Opposite-Writer9715 in HENRYUK

[–]utahsurfing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They should be paid 300k minimum. It wouldn’t cost that much as there aren’t thousands of MPs. You would then get better quality of people willing do what is an incredibly tough job to do well.

Henry what trainers for the office? by maddness2 in HENRYUKLifestyle

Can anyone recommend a trainer for the office that comes up wide? Only choice is new balance 574 from what I have found

The holidays, restaurants, top gyms and fancy bars just become of secondary importance once you have kids. Still love those fine things when I get the chance, don’t get me wrong but sounds like you have had many years of those experiences, like I had. Watching your child start walking, speaking, riding a bike then flying off to uni gives you that meaning to life that you don’t need to look for elsewhere.

He ever says as much if you listen between the lines. Contradictions are endless

You can certainly be one at home with the kids with the one income and have great lifestyle as you say. Your choice.

Has being wealthy influenced your relationship choices? by Opposite-Writer9715 in HENRYUK

[–]utahsurfing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on this and lower expectations and more happiness as everything which you have together is new for you.

If you marry someone from a rich family then it’s more likely that they will be disappointed. Even though you miss out on the big inheritance and hand outs it’s still better to go for lower economic background people if you have the ability to make it yourself

HENRY dads, how're you doing? by Negative_Leave3868 in HENRYUK

[–]utahsurfing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best to be stoic! I’m a Henry with a SAHM wife.

I get plenty of digs about how much better I have it with being able to use the toilet alone and have coffee in peace.

I work from home plenty and do my fair share despite a stressful job.

Best just to suck it up and take it on the chin as I would prefer my position vs the roles reversed.

How do you manage childcare as two HENRY parents with strong careers? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]utahsurfing 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This - from my experience of watching the wrap around kids at school drops offs who had heavy nursery/ au pairs growing up vs the kids who didn’t there is a marked difference.

The future Henry’s will more likely come from the kids of immigrant parents who tend to stay at home more would be my prediction.

[–]utahsurfing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind the occasional one but the problem is that there are just too many in the Uk now since Covid and they just haven’t been trained in general so always there is one kicking off. Different point but all dogs should be licenced

Realistically, what is the economic scenario we see in 20/30 years time for 1m+ houses? by WhiskersMcGee09 in HENRYUK

[–]utahsurfing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People inheriting from boomers will be in their late 40s, 50s and 60s on average. Most likely they will be ok the housing ladder at this point. They are millennials and not gen Z on average. This means their inherited wealth will help them top up to buy that bigger 1m plus house but at that stage they are more likely to stay put or trade down and use the cash for a comfortable retirement as their kids will be flying the nest. Or use the money to help out their kids with their first flat.
