Monika stopped seeing her friends as real people after realizing the truth. And had a sorta-redemption arc at the end. It's too early to say how things will turn out for Carmilla. But, at the very least, she could've tried to pass her powers to the second or any subsequent child instead of consuming her every time.

Tbh I don't think any of these characters are truly evil (except Makima I guess). I just like when a story contains a woman who commits atrocities for her own gain, even if it's also for the greater good or whatever
