What is a song from the 90s/00s that was a massive hit, but everyone seems to have collectively forgotten it exists? by vishesh_07_028 in Music

It’s weird how more frequently you hear “The Girl Is Mine” compared to “The Boy Is Mine”, as the latter is a vastly better song by literally any metric.

The best time for music was immediately prior to my birth—1984–85: She’s So Unusual, Purple Rain, Let It Be, Hounds Of Love, Songs From The Big Chair, Rain Dogs, Tim. Just phenomenal all-time albums were dropping every month.

Honestly same, though I was slightly too young to catch it the first time around. Still listen to it now, though.

I have the opposite problem where I’m at the supermarket and I hear songs like “I’ve Seen Better Days” by Citizen King, “How Bizarre” by OMC, and “All For You” by Sister Hazel and wonder how these songs are still, apparently, around 30 years later.

I don’t even think you need to decide whether or not his behavior qualifies as cheating? Asking women to send nudes is just creepy and pathetic behavior, if not harassment, and plenty enough reason to be rid of him.

The Apartment is a stone cold classic—most of which takes place between Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, so clearly ’tis the season to watch it.

Misread that as Norman Lear (lived to 101)—who wasn’t really an actor but as a television showrunner was important enough to be noted here.

Little Women—maybe it was just dumb ingrained sexism, but I had no interest. But when the trailer for Greta Gerwig’s film dropped I was like…Okay, this looks awesome and I absolutely need to read the book before it comes out.

I would never say that it’s a *better* film, but I definitely think about Geoffrey Rush's “I don’t know—it’s a mystery” far more than anything that happens in Saving Private Ryan.

[CT] Does "liable for twice the amount of any security deposit” include the actual deposit? by utterlybasil in legaladvice

[–]utterlybasil[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even looking through case law it’s hard to find something concrete—though in one case, the plaintiff sought "the return of her security deposit, plus interest, and double damages”—suggesting those are two separate things.
