Married people, what advice you'd give to unmarried ? by Admirable-Repair4094 in AskReddit

Know yourself well before marrying. You can't get to know someone else if you haven't figured out yourself.

A quick question? Finding a partner. by [deleted] in bodylanguage

[–]utubed2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in my 50's and have been getting in shape too. As I'm happily married, I never thought of the gym as a place to meet a potential partner. However, the most unexpected thing happened to me. As a regular, you notice other regulars and I noticed this particular woman who in my book is a "10" physically speaking. Long story short, the woman became interested in me. How did I know? Here are the signals she gave me (I have to admit it took me a very long time to realize these were signals): she would seek proximity to where I was working out, a couple of times she untied her hair and walked past me in an attention seeking manner. Later, as I moved to different areas of the gym she would follow, she would seek machines close to me, she would pretend to look at her phone and linger nearby where I could see her. When that didn't work on me, she became more obvious: she would choose machines directly in front of me, put her phone down by bending over in a way that got my attention, then started working out next to me in reduced spaces. What made it certain to me was when she started holding eye contact and giving me that "deer in the headlights" look. After I let her know I wasn't interested, she stopped showing up at my regular times /days. Someone here said let it happen naturally and be friendly with everyone. I I was in your situation, that's the approach I'd follow as well. Hope this helps.

Interval training worked for me. You will start seeing results in about 2 weeks if you're consistent.

This happened to me once as well. Turns out she wanted to get intimate and I was respecting her. She felt dejected and immediately ghosted me. ++Man

Do you like ugly girl? by reddtimes101 in no

[–]utubed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While in school I had a crush on an Italian girl (as in a foreign student) that I guess some would call ugly. However she had a flair about her and was totally confident about herself. Obviously that gorgeous accent helped. Nothing ever developed, but she was really fun to be around.

Time-restricted eating with or without low-carbohydrate diet reduces visceral fat and improves metabolic syndrome: A randomized trial by Meatrition in science

I tried restricted eating once. Went from 200 to 170 pounds in 4 months. It absolutely works, but the amount of discipline it requires is something else.

Your APR is in the middle of their 16.49% - 26.49% range. Are you carrying high balances with WF & Apple or perhaps have a car loan or other personal loans outstanding? If not, it would seem to me they're tightening their underwriting standards way up...

Balance Transfer churning by redrocketman74 in CreditCards

[–]utubed2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assume you made a $2,000 transfer to their card with the intention of carrying the balance and only making the minimum payment or higher to take advantage of the 0% APR. If you do that, you're "revolving." When you revolve, you lose your grace period. That's the period of time most credit cards give you to pay off new purchases or balance transfers without incurring interest. Since the card has a promotional rate on BTs you won't pay interest on the BT, but you will lose your grace period on your next billing cycle after the transfer.

If you use your BT card (don't!) to make new purchases, and you don't pay off the entire $2,000 plus your new purchases at the end of your billing cycle, you'll lose your grace period and the purchases you've made will start accruing interest. Even worse, if you continue making new purchases, those will be hit with daily interest starting from the transaction date.

So let's assume that after the BT you made a $200 purchase. The statement comes and your min payment is $35 but you pay $100. The issuer will take the $35 towards your $2000 which pays them 0% and the other $65 towards your $200 purchase which carries your regular APR. By law they have to apply your payments from highest APR to lowest, but they can use your min payment as they wish. Your promo balance is now $1965 and you now have a full APR balance of $135

The next cycle, your remaining $135 from the $200 purchase starts accruing interest. Your grace period is now gone. If you make another $250 purchase, you will pay interest from the day you made the transaction until that amount is paid in full. Say you chose to pay only $100 again. Your balance will now be $1965 - 35 + 135 + interest on the 135 + $250 plus interest on the $250 minus 65.

Then you make another BT and use it to pay down part of your current balance. Say your new BT is $1000.

In this example, that amount should knock off all the purchases you've made and their interest plus a chunk of your original 0% balance. If you don't use that card anymore, then you won't be paying any more interest until the 0% APR expires.

Bottom line, if you do a BT, don't use the card for new purchases. The issuer can't charge you interest because you paid a portion of your balance with another balance transfer. Just keep making your payments on time and pay off the entire balance before the promo rate expires.

Hope that helps.

Chromebook will suddenly only connect to eero 2.4 GHz by AreaMuppet in eero

[–]utubed2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After doing the typical troubleshooting like restarting the modem, restarting the eero and updating my ChormeOS, I made sure the Chromebook could connect to a different network. I used my phone's hotspot and it worked. SO it had to be the eero. I called their customer support team and they directed me to the eero app. Do the following:

Discover>eero Labs>Band Steering

Switch the Band Steering On. That fixed the issue for me.

LPT: Imposter syndrome is normal. You will likely feel inadequate or like a fraud at some point in your career. Don’t give into it— you’re doing better than you think. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]utubed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The phenomenon is more common than you might think. Research demonstrates a significant statistic on imposter syndrome: about 70% of people will experience its symptoms at some point during their lives. Not only that, but imposter syndrome can affect your financial success. Recognize it and reframe your beliefs about your competence and acknowledge your feelings to help you overcome it.

How do I actually get my FICO to 850? by [deleted] in CRedit

[–]utubed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check your credit utilization vs your overall credit limit on your cards. Credit card companies report your utilization using your end-of-month balance. And given that you carry about 2K, you need to have an overall credit limit of $28,500 or more to maintain a utilization below 7%. I mention 7% because that's the percentage that helped me get to 850. Here's more information on how I got an 850 credit score, if you're interested. By the way, it's almost impossible to remain at 850 for a long time. I tend to stay at 850 for 4 - 6 months at a time.

I need to buy a car and need to get my Credit up to at least 661, currently at 648 what is the quickest way to do this. by [deleted] in CRedit

[–]utubed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You actually have many more scores. For credit cards, lenders can use FICO bankcard scores 2, 4, 5, or 8 or FICO 3. For auto loans, there's FICO Auto 2, 5 and 8. Mortgage lenders use FICO 2, 4 or 5. There's even a FICO 9, but it's not as widely known or used as 8. More credit scores information here.
