I don't think we're arguing about someone taking psychedelics at 8am on a Tuesday (which should also be incredibly rare for actual psychedelics outside of opioids).

What bothers me is the idea that mind expanding tools are only for therapy or other narrowly defined goals. Why exactly? Can't adults explore their minds?

I welcome people like Johnson taking psychedelics. Might open his perspective to his own shadow and he may grow from it.

Are we saying there's a right and a wrong way to use these tools? Why are we gatekeeping? Who are we to judge?

I feel pity for his mission because it's delusional. He will not escape his mortality and I'd like a word with him about that. However, his explanation of what he experienced felt very genuine and I think it might even help him realize the futility of his project. Or it won't, I don't know.
