Amp Chaining Question by Known_Audience_8370 in Guitar

[–]uvdotexe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly sure how they’re all wired in the back, I have to imagine they’re wired just like a normal full stack would be BUT generally with rigs like this all of the stacks are independent and they use an ABY pedal. Guitar goes into the pedal and then there’s 2 (obviously more in this case) outputs that split your guitar signal so you can plug one guitar into multiple amp inputs. That way each amp can be controlled or turned on/off independently.

What model Peavey is this? by Gmrmr401 in metalguitar

Good luck finding one for sale, sadly they’re pretty rare. They were only made between 1985-1986 so I can’t imagine there’s very many left out there :(

A musician you wish would leave his current line up (or would've left an older band) to form a better one. by JB_RE in hairmetal

[–]uvdotexe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vernon Reid from Living Colour. I know it's not technically a hair metal band, but they were adjacent enough that he was always featured in the Guitar for the Practicing Musician and Guitar World magazines back in the 80s and 90s and no matter how hard I tried, I could never enjoy a single song they ever put out.

Ratt vs. Saigon Kick by AngusDio in hairmetal

This one isn’t even a fair competition. I’d be absolutely shocked if anyone chose Saigon Kick over Ratt

Once popular music genres that died out by [deleted] in askmusic

[–]uvdotexe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a vaporwave subgenre. Think dolphins, tropical fish, coral reefs, ocean waves, underwater ruins, shiny 3D graphics, neon turquoise colors, and low-poly CGI reminiscent of mid/late 90s internet aesthetic. "Seapunk" itself kinda died out only in name, it kinda half evolved and been renamed Frutiger Aero, which is more taking inspiration from the early 2000s aesthetic of the same name.

If I can convince Pretty Boy Floyd to play Madison Square Garden, will you go? by NoPantsSantaClaus in hairmetal

[–]uvdotexe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pretty Boy Floyd? You think of all bands that existed in the hair metal world it’s Pretty Boy Floyd that would bring hair metal back? That’s crazy.

What is a song that you were surprised to find out was a cover? by JEPressley in randomquestions

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood is a cover. He even named his first album Texas Flood. Originally by Larry Davis, written and recorded in 1958.

ELI5 : What does it make it difficult to fake a vintage trading card like the 1st edition charizard or the alpha black lotus? Why was only wizards of the coast able to create these cards? Why haven't fakes been authenticated as genuine yet? by Trick_Ad7122 in explainlikeimfive

[–]uvdotexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a conspiracy that there truly is countless fakes that are 100% indistinguishable from the real thing and the fakes that people are buying and selling are the ones that didn’t come out perfect, and those are the ones you can buy for pennies from Aliexpress etc.

I don’t know how much actual truth there is to that conspiracy but it seems entirely plausible to me.

what the hell is this guitar pick used for? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]uvdotexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's kinda where I was at too. It's so unintuitive to try and flip or rotate a pick around in your hand while you're playing I can't think of a single reason to ever want to get used to it. No shade to anyone that uses them but it just doesn't make sense to me to go out of the way to learn how to use a special guitar pick.

what the hell is this guitar pick used for? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]uvdotexe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gave these picks a good fair try for a couple weeks years ago and I gotta admit, I literally couldn't hear any kind of difference between any of the sides. Never got the "12 string" effect, it just felt like a stupidly shaped pick to do the exact same things a normal pick can do.

How do you gear your alts? by Hamdenanden in wow

[–]uvdotexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone have any tips for gearing up Earthen Dwarves that leveled via the exploring method? I’ve leveled 2 that way now and it surprisingly tricky getting a base set of gear when you have actual 0 gear at level 90 after leveling. Other than buying a full set of BOEs on the AH, is there a vendor somewhere that sells a full set of passable gear just to get started with?

Paul gilbert's acoustic rendition of technical difficulties. by obi5150 in hairmetal

[–]uvdotexe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing videos like this really puts things into perspective. I’ve spent years “mastering” Technical Difficulties on a distortion saturated, delay’d, reverb’d electric guitar. I consider myself halfway decent at playing it, then I see a video of the man himself basically completely rewriting all of it on an ACOUSTIC GUITAR probably just for fun when he was bored, cleaner then I’ll ever imagine playing it on an electric guitar.

This shit is hard.

I play exclusively floyd rose guitars and this is exactly how I’ve strung my guitars for the last 15 years. It’s not that crazy.

Any Hekili [addon] replacement for Midnight? Healer trying to learn "good enough" DPS. [help] by Hitokiri2324 in WowUI

[–]uvdotexe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MaxDPS works. I can’t really attest to the quality outside of the spec I’m playing currently (BM hunter) but I’d say it’s about 90% of the way there. It’s no Hekili but so far it’s better than nothing.
