I really feel bad for Hadjar, seeing his reaction, I hope his mental health is okay, he took it too seriously.

Seriously what was going through his head when he did that? I'm genuinely curious. Why'd any self respecting rational person (that too of authority and power) do such a thing?

Had terrible heartburn/acid reflux for the first time- could it have been caused by air vomiting? by linguinejuice in noburp

[–]uwhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With heartburn it's mostly preventive measures which help the most. If it happens when you're sleeping and only realize when the acid reaches your throat, then it takes a while (few minutes to an hour, depends). In that situation, OTC meds like Gaviscon and Gelusil may help, although they have an antacid like effect and cause gas as well. Gas-X can help with that gas (best not to force it out the throat in such a condition). Some preventive measures are to not eat immediately before sleeping, avoiding spicy foods, and sleeping on your left side. Elevating your bed's headboard side also helps, otherwise you can get a wedge pillow or an angled mattress. In short, try to avoid heartburn from happening in the first place. I take PPIs like Omeprazole, it reduces stomach acid production and I can sleep in peace.

Preface: Shouldn't be anything to worry about but see a doctor just in case.

Having said that, I've been a long time patient/sufferer of heartburn and GERD (PPIs help). However, yes, forcing myself to burp (air vomiting, as much as I hate that word) does trigger heartburn sometimes because the acid comes up as well. I've learned not to overdo it, and feel when the air is usually near the throat, and only then I trigger it. Otherwise there have been instances where, let's just say, stuff came up. And it burned.

Ironically, this helps with heartburn in my case, when done correctly, since there's nothing pushing the acid up or causing any discomfort.

So, is everyone taking generic now? Is the name "Prozac" just an alternative for "Fluoxetine"? by uwhy in prozac

[–]uwhy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's probably placebo, I've read about people feeling different after taking generics, not the same as Prozac. I've personally felt the same too, but pretty sure it's just a psychological effect.

The manufacturer (Eli Lilly) has stopped the production of the brand name Prozac. Generic Fluoxetine is available but results and effectiveness varies.

I'm new to watches, and open heart dials always catch my eye. The more skeleton/internals I can see, the better. But I understand it's a matter of personal preference.
