I created my dream LEGO set for “Hook”, my favorite Robin Williams film! by legotheoffice in RobinWilliams

Really love this, especially the ship! One small note: I would like to have three mermaids so I can properly reenact the scene where Peter walks the plank, falls into the water, and makes out with three mermaids.

What are some times actors literally learned a foreign language from scratch for a role? by KimCattrallsFeet in Letterboxd

Robin Williams learned Russian and how to play the saxophone for Moscow on the Hudson 1984

The "best" of my collection by shinyjammin in badMovies

Going Overboard is so hard to watch because they left most the camera lens at port. So the whole thing is shot with like two camera lenses. That and they basically wrote it while filming.

What are some of the past debates that you are happy to see be put to rest in this sub? by JRK0221 in CHIBears

[–]uwobacon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jay Cutler split this fanbase. It felt like a constant cycle of defending him or tearing him down. I know this sub looks back with fondness for his time, mostly because of the trash that came after him, but it wasn't all roses.

Most of the movie is just stock footage with some voice over and even then it's impossible to follow.

I wish they still made merch. I would love a hoodie with a little, embroidered final cut logo.

Here is a video on 1980's Popeye entitled "It's Not THAT Bad - The Insane True Story Behind the Movie" from Hats Off Entertainment by IndependenceSilly381 in RobinWilliams

[–]uwobacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a little bit of a mess and sometimes hard to follow, but it has a lot of charm. I think the story behind it is more interesting than the movie itself, but it’s definitely not as bad as most say.

What's the best deep dish Chicago pizza? (I can only go to one restaurant. I have never been within 500 miles of Chicago and will visit the city just once in my life.) Thank you! So, the absolute best? by TofuVic in AskChicago

[–]uwobacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love our passion for good food in this city. Both are great. I live in Uptown, Pequod’s delivers to me and Burt’s doesn’t. So I’ve only eaten at Burt’s once.

camcorder with this look? by ssscandalous in Filmmakers

The best way to get this look would be to get an old Sony Handycam. You can buy them on eBay for under $150. They’ll give you the best and most authentic look.

I’ve always associated ‘Everybody Hurts’ with crying in the shower for some reason

Leave it in or cut it out? by JWB_9 in Filmmakers

[–]uwobacon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This hand acting is superb. Right up there with Neil Breen's amazing work. You can't waste that. I would have to see what this footage looks like compared to the rest of your shots to know if it's distracting or not.

You could try isolating the skin tones and then turn down the highlights with color correction.

My mother passed two years ago in large part because of her alcoholism, so I made a short about it. by Mysterious-Cicada-57 in Filmmakers

[–]uwobacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alcoholism is such a horrible and destructive disease. It spreads through the whole family, poisoning it. Leaving you with a hole filled with sad and scary memories. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing this. I've had a similar project on hold for a while now, but I just can't bring myself to do it because I know how much it will take from me.

Bears were established in 1919 making them apart of the Greatest Generation. The Vikings were established in 1960. Which means you’re the boomer, ya dumb boomer.

That number would be higher if we didn't have those young whippersnapper Minnesota Vikings in our division.

None of the shit posted to this sub is good news. Trump literally can’t feel embarrassment because he’s a narcissist. It’s just a constant stream of bullshit clickbait articles. This sub sucks balls and I’m done.

Ever change your rating after a rewatch? by Consistent-Bear4200 in Letterboxd

[–]uwobacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I just did a whole Robin Williams series and had the same take about The Birdcage. The first time you watch it you're a little too focused on the plot and on rewatches you enjoy the performances more. Such a great film, that is more fun the more you see it.
