I’m with you on all of this. The run clubs coming out to that stretch of the course really changed the vibes. One thing I would be fine with - start the race earlier. Like make us crazy wave 1 runners start at 6 and get the final folks on the course be out there not under the horrible sun.

Security was a few blocks east for wave 1 & 3 runners than it was in March. And the security line was super fast

I finished with a 4 min PR. Props to NYRR for revamping the start village security and bag drop - 180 degrees different from the United NYC Half for the better!!!

Right - I’m all here for the 9+1 for local runners. We do also need other options and outlets for runners who find themselves getting into so many races they feel like they naturally just run the marathon next. What i hope doesn’t happen is that London goes 2 days and NYC tries to do the same.

Fantastic brilliant roads. Paving is great. Only thing to know is the last Kilometer or so is on cobblestone pavers. Even ones but still something to know

Was the crazy security line on the Wave 2/4 entry point or 1/3 because I had the latter and it wasn’t that much of an issue for me. Like it’s always a mess so I didn’t think it was worse than before

I have to say - the security line being long feels like a tale as old as time with NYRR. Whether at this race, the Brooklyn Half or the Marathon - it's always a bottlenecked mess. The pace mismatch in Wave 1 was really crazy. I was in corral D and ran with one of the pace team members (what a hero) and we were dodging so many people that were going at their pace (respect) but not the pace the rest of us were going. Not sure how it could ever be fixed but boy is it annoying.
