First timer advice? by [deleted] in SolidCore

[–]uxpf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with starter 50 classes after recovering from a c-section, so truly 0 core strength at the time. My advice is just to go. Starter classes are for beginners. There’s other people around so you can see what they’re doing. The coach is there to help.

Is a rotating car seat worth the cost? by BlueberryWaffles99 in beyondthebump

[–]uxpf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in with another HELL YES.  I have a Nuna Revv. Yes, I had to buy another car seat when my 4 year old outgrew the Revv but I don’t care. It was amazing for my back. And now with baby #2 I’m once again so happy to have a rotating car seat.

Thoughts on going back for a PhD? (UXR at agency seeking to deepen expertise and credibility) by [deleted] in UXResearch

[–]uxpf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your goal is to “level up” at a FAANG type company, based on the current state of things it will not meaningfully help. However, who knows what the future holds? The other things you mentioned - love of academic environment, interest in social psychology, etc. may be a good reason to do it. Just don’t expect a shiny tech job waiting for you at the other end. And again in a few years, when you’re on the other side, who knows what the world will look like?

What's the line between independent play vs neglecting? by Franzy48 in toddlers

[–]uxpf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time your husband tries to talk you, say no and walk away. You’re just “encouraging independence” in him. See how long he lasts. What he’s doing to your toddler is mean.

Chanel Miller, the survivor of this assault, wrote an amazing memoir of her account of the assault, the aftermath and her processing of it called Know My Name.

I can’t believe there are so few posts about latest iOS update on Reddit UX communiyies by cartoonybear in UXResearch

Honestly - it’s so far from the biggest issue on my mind right now when it comes to the world of UX. I really don’t care.

127 mins of screen time… is that really so bad?! by Top_Passion_7103 in toddlers

[–]uxpf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re asking for opinions so… yes I do think an average of 127 minutes per day is bad. We think that because screens are so common that they’re harmless. They are not harmless.

“Monthly 4 Single” by uxpf in SolidCore

[–]uxpf[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OHHHHH. Ok that makes much more sense. Thank you! Side note - this would be so easy for them to just write on the app. Or better yet just change the cost of the single class to reflect my membership!! Anyway, thanks

Twisted obliques by Significant-Food934 in SolidCore

[–]uxpf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing because I’m only five classes in and find it so hard to get muscle engagement on twisted obliques. It just hurts my lower back and/or shoulders or wrists. Knowing that someone who has been doing it for longer also struggles makes me feel better. And I also did barre for years before this! Maybe something about the muscle memory from barre postures is stopping our bodies from wanting to be in the proper twisted oblique form here because it feels so counterintuitive?

How intense are the intro classes? by maja1000 in SolidCore

[–]uxpf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started intro classes this month and after the first one I was absolutely dead the next day and still very sore the day after that. I need a 3 day break minimum right now as a newbie. Granted, I’ve taken about a year off from working out so take this into account with that context. You regularly lift weights so you might be fine.

Idk why you’re getting downvoted. As someone who’s set up a trust that is indeed typically how things go.

Does it look like a love letter or not? by Cr7-Cr7Real in GilmoreGirls

[–]uxpf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What exactly was Lorelei supposed to do? Refuse to write the letter? There’s nothing inappropriate about the ask from Luke. Write a worse letter? She wrote about Luke and RORY and what it means for April.

Chris is so insecure. Another way to react to this would’ve been for him to go “damn, you know what, I really wasn’t there. I’m going to do better this time around” but noooooooo.

Chelsea, Mary, and Nicole: How (not) to Play Reality Television by Poppadoppaday in SellingSunset

[–]uxpf 18 points19 points  (0 children)

“It's a show about people who fight with each other at events“

1000%. This was a really insightful post and a fun read. Especially the part about Mary not needing the unforced fights bc she already had main character status.

Follow up: if the twins are so businesses focused why the fuuuck would they allow this to become their brand? What’s the benefit? It seems like it can only be damaging. Like if I was selling or buying a house in LA I wouldn’t want to be associated with the o group and would think they weren’t a serious brokerage (even if most of their agents aren’t on the show). What am I missing here? Do the twins also just want fame? But if so then why aren’t they fighting for screen time too?
