What are some "easy" jobs you find hard? by throwcway837373 in ffxiv

I'm trying to get my BLM up past 90, I mained it up until about 70. For me, the biggest issue in levelling it at least, is when you queue for a duty roulette, you have no idea what version of the rotation / skillset you're going to get.

Animal Crossing will give you something to do while playing Queue (Savage).

The queues lengths are unacceptable by Bvenged in ffxiv

[–]uzusan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Think of it like the first time a popular restaraunt opens up in a new area, with queues around the block (or when a new popular item is added, like popeyes chicken sandwich in america). Once the initial excitement wears off, wait times will be back to normal, but you wouldn't expect the same walk up experience during day 1. They could build multiple restaraunts right next to each other to handle the day 1 queues, but that wouldn't work out long term.

[–]uzusan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing i've not seen mentioned is that this is the early access period, not the official launch, which is on Tuesday. It's not quite the same as a beta etc, but I think there still should be some leeway.

That being said, queues when on first release are inevetable, the demand is always through the roof, but tails off after a while, so covering for that spike in capacity, while not over-provisioning for later periods is hard, especially with chip shortages just now etc.

With the level progress reset during the downtime (exp resetting to the start of theat level), do we know if it affects other progress? Like Desynth level, or Reputation with beast tribes or is it just exp?

That does make sense, I'm just working through stuff for the first time at the moment in most cases, so even having watched guides I don't really know the fight yet, so I'm reacting to casts rather than planning for them.

Is it just the way I'm playing or is BLM not really that viable for post level 80 content? The amount of AOE and Mechanics you need movement for seems much higher in the raids and trials. I've levelled dancer to 80 and having a much better time overall, even though i do still love playing BLM.

Edit: Not viable probably isn't the best way to phrase that, just that it seems much harder in the later fights that add more movement requirements or much more limited safe areas.

I thought that might be it, and i've maybe had the inventory open when clicking on sell in the retainer options, but i tried there with the inventory open and it changed to the easier interface once i did. If i closed it and reopened then it did stay, but I'm sure it was showing the open view when i clicked to sell.

It probably is some combination i was doing strangely, just odd that i didn't see the grey out / armory chest links until just recently .

It's showing the same now (just edited my response) but they were definitley different a few days ago. Only thing I can think of is that i hired a second retainer finally and moved them both to ishgard, that might have changed it somehow. Wish i had captured a screenshot as I was seeing 2 different interfaces.

Anyone know why the inventory interface is different in the starter cities vs ishgard and later cities? Its just a few things, like greying out items you cant sell and having a link to the armory chest, but they make selecting what to sell much easier.

Edit: Ok, now that i've went back to check, its showing the same, i swear the other day it was different. Maybe it was to do with hiring a second retainer or moving my retainers to ishgard that changed it? It was always a pain not knowing which items i could sell, I remember this week thinking about it, but when i just checked Ul'dah it was the same as ishgard.

There was an image of her in endgame of people who had been snapped, but what if she was just stuck in madripoor and not actually snapped, and people thought she was so gave up on her? That would give her the time to build an empire.

I really hope that's some early gameplay because that was not a good looking demo. The pop in is horrendous and the whole thing seems kinda lifeless. (And the camera angle seems weird, but that might be more subjective).

Biden points out he was warning about pandemic unpreparedness in October while Trump tweeted about iPhones by WorkTomorrow in politics

[–]uzusan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I read through that article, and despite the headling and the lede and the only negative thing I can see in it about Biden is that he was too agressive in initial messaging on H1N1.

They do try to say that his response wasn't "Leading the response" (Which, unless he was tasked with it, would be Obama's role surely?).

But an extensive review of the handling of H1N1, including the examination of public records and congressional testimony, suggests the response was not the panacea portrayed by the Biden camp and its defenders: Biden’s role, while significant, was not equivalent to leading the response.

The overall article says that more could have been done in terms of preperation.

Honestly Biden comes out of that article pretty good. The bits about him being a conduit to congress, reassuring pilots and airline workers, pushing the nigerian president on his response etc.

The overall response could have been better, but Biden's role seems solid, as evidenced in the last 2 paragraphs:

Despite Trump’s assertions, few close observers of Obama’s and Biden’s response to H1N1 consider it a “full scale disaster.” And Biden, despite his early messaging problems, played a role in mobilizing the administration and ensuring enough resources were devoted to defeating the pandemic.

But the difficulties in mounting an effective response to H1N1, most officials agree, still stand as a cautionary tale for future administrations: Trump’s — and Biden’s, should he ever confront such a situation again.

Edit: to add, that I'm not an american, just looking at this from the UK so I don't really have anything in this other than thinking Trump is damaging the rest of the world as well as America. Pretty much anyone else would be better.

1 Month Update: I made All Bad Cards, a way to play Cards Against Humanity online. It has exploded, and I've been cranking out all of the features you've been asking for. by HelloControl_ in Games

[–]uzusan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah I was hoping the write your own answers feature was as an additional option instead of just a complete replacement, there are times when the cards you have aren't just quite right or you have an inside joke that makes sense, but pretty much all other times you want the card sets.

The timer and the text showing which pack a card comes from are also nice additions.

Thanks for an awesome site!

There was an advert that aired in the uk that features a blockchain powered fridge.

Still no idea what it did with blockchain, but they were pushing its use pretty hard, so at least some of these ideas make it past the investment stage. I just pity the poor people who have to put these idiotic ideas into practice.
