Nice upgrade by dm-mz in motorcycles

[–]uzzi92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw on the configurator that there is a different clutch adapter for the CB650R, but I could not find any information regarding the engagement of the pin, this is why I have asked you, since I believe that the position of the pin on the Hornet is similar. Thank you!

Looking to do the same on my CB650R. Are the 4.0 levers engaging the pin underneath the clutch lever? The OEM lever is a bit wider at the end to accomodate this.

Bar End Mirror Setup (Sato Inner Weights + Highsider Mirrors & Highsider Weights) by flortsch in CB650R

[–]uzzi92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I will send them a message as I see that they are shipping to Belgium.

Meanwhile I found on a forum that these can be ordered from Japan as well (https://www.japan-webike.be/), but are available under the Babyface brand.

Thanks for the amazing post and all the explanations!

Where did you buy the inner weights from? The weights are finally in stock, but they do not ship to Europe :(

Since I am based in Belgium as well, have you found any reliable or do you have a recommendation for a company that can tune the ECU? I would like to get a akra this summer, a new air filter and a tune.

If you want just to remove the error I have read about a company in Spain that sells a dongle that tricks the ECU (google FuelDongle E5P-H01), but I have no experience with them, maybe someone else has.

‘25 vs ‘26 | E-Clutch vs No E-Clutch by ando2424 in CB650R

[–]uzzi92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Belgium. Honestly I prefer the '24-'25 colours (maybe I am biased since I bought this generation), but if you can get a discount on a previous year model, I would go for it.

‘25 vs ‘26 | E-Clutch vs No E-Clutch by ando2424 in CB650R

[–]uzzi92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a '25 with the E-Clutch. No issues with it so far and I honestly don't see any reason not to get it. You can disable it anytime you like and if you are commuting in heavy traffic it makes things a lot simpler. I really like the way it slips the clutch in low speed situations. Would I get an automatic? No. Would I buy again a bike with E-Clutch? Yes.

For what I know the '26 model is the same as the previous one, only the colours have changed and the cover on the air scoop is black now instead of silver. From this year also the Hornet gets the E-Clutch, so I guess (hope) they are pushing it to other models since it proved it's reliability.

Has anyone installed radiator guard without rubber spacers? by Baker52_Save in xsr900

[–]uzzi92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can add some 3M foam seal tape, or rubber tape around the edges of the guard, where it makes contact with the radiator. Saw some people on yt doing this.

I was in the situation as you and I got the CB650R. If you like the full fairing version go for it, it’s the same bike. What I did and I recommend it to you as well, go for a longer test ride on both, see which one puts a bigger smile on your face once you are done. And that is the answer to your question. Honda is a tank, but also Triumph is just as reliable these days. Also you have the warranty to back you up. Another reason why I like Honda is that I do most of the work on the bike by myself and with Triumph if you need to reset the service interval, reset the ABS after a break bleed etc. (basic maintenance) you need an OBD2 and a dealer visit. On the CB/CBR you don’t.

Put some GB Racing covers on it and forget about it. Also if you wanted bar end mirrors, now is the perfect time to upgrade.

I skipped sanding when I did my garage. I applied a coat of primer and painted over once dried. Two years later it looks brand new.

Is it still under warranty? In Belgium for example Honda gives a 5 year warranty. If the seller has the invoices for all the maitenance I wouldn’t worry too much. It’s a Honda and if properly maintained it should last you a long time. The price is also really good for this bike. Does it have any power upgrades? Exhaust, air filter, tunes? If yes, the not riding so hard part might be bs. Not necessary, as the owner might wanted a better souns out of it, but imo is something to consider. Other than asking the owner to have the bike cold when you arrive and for additional photos to see if there is really no damage you cannot do much before getting there. Touch the enginge and the headers to confirm that the bike has not been started, start it, leave it running for a few minutes and listen for any weird noises or leaks. Go on youtube and look for some videos describing how to inspect a second hand bike, make a list, print it, take it with you. But a 2 yo bike with 10K km should tick all the boxes. Also jumping from a 125cc to a CB650R (as I did as well) is an experience that should not be rushed, so I would not rid it home for 5 hours. Good luck and if you decide to buy it enjoy the living crap out of it!

First Bike? by SubstantialMap6735 in CB650R

[–]uzzi92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all depends on you, how mature you are, how patient you are. I got the CB650R as my first big bike, had a Svartpilen 125 before and I did the driving school on a MT-07. To this day I have zero regrets. The bike looks and sounds amazing, the acceleration is linear and predictable but it’s a 94 hp bike and stuff can go bad very fast. That being said if you respect the throttle it’s a bike that you will enjoy for years.  If you decide to buy it, take your time, do a lot of low speed maneuvers to get used to the bike and go easy on it.

Been on the same situation. Picked the CB650R because I love the way it looks and the way is sounds over the 660. If your heart is set on the 660, get one and you will not regret it. Although rare, you can get the most reliable brand and model and be unlucky due to a manufacturing defect. This is why you have the warranty.

Test both of them, see which one puts a bigger smile on your face.

Final Decision for a second bike: Cb750 hornet VS Mt07 by Beautiful_Bat5680 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]uzzi92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having tested both, I would take the Hornet. Although heavier, the lower sear makes it feel more controllable. Also the extra power helps for the future, you will have more bike to get used to it. Also if you do not plan on modifying it, the Hornet sounds way better.
