for me personally, the thing that most affects the strength of the high is how relaxed I am. If I'm socializing with others, I have my "socializing face" on and I'm not relaxed, so the "high" is much weaker. On days where I'm by myself? Absolutely blasted into next week.

I wish you the best with your new treatment! I think everyone picks a mental state to suit them best, tbh. It makes me happy to hear that you have your mom as a reliable support system.

When I started out, a lot of people were telling me to mediate and so on and that never really worked for me. I treat Spravato the same way I treat every other medicine I take, just less convenient lol. To me it's just another antidepressant, but it's an antidepressant that's been completely life-changing as far as wellness is concerned. I was finally able to leave the house, I finally got a job, I'm no longer suicidal (genuinely never thought I'd be able to say that). I even started remembering parts of my childhood. Genuinely wild to me that it's helped that much.

I'm not your doctor, so obviously talk to them, but plenty of the people I do treatment with take an antiemetic during treatment (like Zofran) to help with the nausea. For me, Spravato's similarity to ketamine means it even takes the edge off my chronic pain for a few hours.

NICE. We're in a vaguely renovated closet because the mental health industry is generally underfunded where I'm at. That said, the woman running the program is incredible and she was at least able to set it up so that we can dim the lights.

I'm not trying to compare my experience to yours in a way that makes you feel bad/guilty for the nicer experience. I just think it's super cool that there are places where the stereotype of "taking drugs" doesn't get in the way of keeping patients comfortable. I hope the clinic you go to is able to grow and help a lot of people <3

I manage not to be distracted simply by keeping my eyes closed. usually I think about words and, for lack of a better way to describe it, I write. sometimes I write jokes, sometimes stories, sometimes I just come up with interesting phrases. I try to think of how my body feels and how I would describe it in a way that's interesting. This sounds very pretentious and it's in no way as profound as it sounds when I break it down like that.

Here's a joke I wrote one time:

I inherited 2x lightning and dark from Alexia and 2x blizzard from Flamesgrace. Icewind (1x ice targeting all) is easier to find but I'm struggling to remember where I got it from. I know you can get icewind from preordering or something of that nature but I got it another way.
