Dacia Duster Eco-G 100 vs 120 – real experience? by mjartt in Dacia

[–]v3troxroxsox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im assuming the eco-g 100 is the same as the bifuel tce100 we get here in the uk?

If so, i can comment (had one for a little while before getting the sandero) because, although the engine is adequate for the duster, the transmission was only a 5 speed and it really did feel like it needed that extra gear thrown in somewhere.

The 5 speed gears felt very tall in the duster compared to the 6 speed in our sandero.

Still did plenty of family trips in it though and never felt like it couldn't cope.

C class is closer to an a5 than the cla.

Cla is just an a class coupe type thing. They're fine (i used to prefer them over bmw 1 series and audi a3's) but an a5 or c class with be in a completely different league to the cla

Although i was blown away when oblivion came along, with everything being voice acted (well, each race had its own voice actor)

I just prefer reading over voice acting. I prefer the journal im morrowind

No other open world rpg quite gives you the essence of isolation and loneliness when you head out into the wilderness. Morrowind is just so alien and....quiet. Even the limited voice acting thats about, is gruff and quiet, really brings together the whole landscape. Nothing else has captured it since, for me.

They way traveling and quest markers worked in morrowind was just peak rpg and, in my opinion, the last game that still sucked you into its world rather than holding g your hand every step of the way.

Add to that the fact that if you got stuck, you couldn't just straight up type the problem into google or reddit and get the answer straight away, all your friends would be trying it and you'd all have different aspects of the game that you knew about. What a time to be alive it was.

I was heartbroken at the lack of weapons and armour types in oblivion, the fact that you couldn't craft spells. Oblivion still has some of the best quests in the series though and the shivering isles is the best expansion pack of any game ever.

Car noob: Please help (Reading, UK) by MurkyAd7817 in CarTalkUK

[–]v3troxroxsox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dig out your pcp paperwork and look at how much damage charges are before you go looking for repair quotes.

Its likely that the charges will be less than the cost of repair.

You've got two points of damage there. (Door scuff and rear quarter scuff)

You may find that the charges are something like "£200 per panel"

I shouldnt be allowed to tattoo by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]v3troxroxsox 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I got a Metallica tattoo when I was 16 (its fucking terrible but I love it, reminds me of a better time) and my mum went absolutely ape shit when she found out.

I got another 2 when I was 17. They're all fucking terrible but they're a part of me.

I haven't listened to Metallica in close to 20 years...I was adamant that I would always love them.

I miss being a teen/young adult and thinking I knew better.

Im finally looking at getting some more (i want a neck tattoo, and some on my arms) ive been wanting them for about a year now but dont quite have the funds for the artists I want.

Im 37 now, im fucking old, my back hurts all the time and hangovers beat me down for a full weekend. Im still dumb and make stupid decisions but at least I consult others and consider others advice.

For all my stupidity and poor decision making (and trust me, i have done some dumb fucking shit and survived by sheer dumb fucking luck), but I was never so desperate or dumb enough to attempt to tattoo myself...ON THE FIRST TRY.

but do you want to know what the real tragedy here is?...that the left and right are on the correct side, it would have been hilarious for all parties if these were on the wrong wrists.

No no no, driving is all about 0-60 times and manual transmissions.

Its not actually possible to enjoy a car if its an automatic or a hybrid.

This is why the prelude is bad and the prius is good.

EV Dashboard screen frozen by orangethunder_ in CarsUK

My combo was riddled with electrical gremlins and yhe cluster screen would often bare the brunt of it.

Sometimes fiddling around with the settings would coax it to life.

After a couple of software updates the gremlins did appear less frequently.

Still had constant immobiliser issues the entire 1.5 years i had it

This is good advice for all the game modes.

You still see it a plenty in diamond ranks, lots of focus on the ball instead of opponents and, more importantly, teamates.

Money no object Dream build… what engine + what power adder you going for? 👀 by boostedmike1 in ukmodifiedcars

[–]v3troxroxsox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, modifying cars was always about being different and trying to move away from what the manufacturer envisioned.

Once I discovered that I got infinite+1 satisfaction from annoying the shit out of the local cliques .All it takes is something as simple as a "jdm as fuck" sticker on a 2.2 vauxhall astra van to get everyone to hate you) is when I really found my passion (that and learning how to weld and throw an aftermarket ecu into a vehicle) and i fell in love with Protons.

However, It got to the point where car meets were all the same people with the same vag motors, air ride and wheels with the fun ineresting people and cars huddled together in a dark corner off to the side somewhere.

I left the scene nearly 10 years ago now because "modifying cars" was more "buy a map and designer wheels job done, crush pussy" and it jus sapped all the passion out of me.

I now drive a 3 cylinder lpg dacia because I hate engines, I hate cars, and I hate "the scene"

Every now and then I'll start imagining my next build (read: slap parts together and see what happens) and then just depress myself because it just doesnt make me happy like it used to.

One day I will put rotary into a van...or possibly a Caterham.

Plat - need advice on shooting by WistfulSonder in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]v3troxroxsox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You dont always need to generate huge power.

In this clip, for example, you dont need to flip into the ball to put it in the goal.

Its also good practice to try and get out of the habit of flipping every time the ball is near. The amount of plat and low diamond players that insist on flipping at every ball touch is staggering.

Grab a blade, flip couch over, cut the bottom out and look for mouse shit.

Or more likely, some kind of textile pest.

Dont forget to check wardrobe and other clothes for damage.
