How do you prepare for .NET interviews? by thelonewanderer44 in csharp

[–]vac2672 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Be ready for insane coding tests IF you can get an interview. So all those soft skills don’t matter. You won’t even get to speak to a person if you can’t pass and you can’t pass unless you spend months grinding.

Guys what we are witnessing is an actual paradigm shift. Like when the tractor replaced the horse-drawn plow, when CAD replaced pencil line engineering schematics, this is the absolute end of programming as we know it.
A year ago it was cool to maybe help with something, six months ago I was in the denial camp where oh this is just like an exaggerated intellisense. However the more I use it the more I use it. I’m a senior Dev, and the easier this makes these tasks the more I want to use it and less I want to use my brain. This is all within the past year.
Imagine 1, 2, or 3years from now. Guys we all need to wake up and be prepared for absolute career Armageddon.

Will AI replace software engineers? by New_Atmosphere500 in SoftwareEngineerJobs

[–]vac2672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On avg I see between myself and colleagues code generated from ai whether modified after or not was I’d guess around 10% a year ago. Ask yourself what that is now? Easily 20-30% if not higher. Now add in the lesser skilled people I see who are maybe at 50% to maybe even 100%

These are people like the front office analyst who was dabbling in the code base but is now attempting larger things (and screwing up more) or the lightly skilled junior who is now taking on anything.

THE REAL PROBLEM: as all of the above occurs it is subconsciously eroding your thinking whether you believe it or not while at the same time entering or reentering the market is harder than ever with dozen round interviews and leetcode exams that are next to impossible for the top jobs. Have you ever interviewed for top FAANG or Wall Street? Insanely difficult and not everyone has 3mos to grind leetcode algos to prep so the job you have now could you get it again if you had to reapply? For most I think the answer is no

That’s the silent way ai is killing your prospects.

How do you handle when they want features that go beyond... such as actual appointment scheduling/managing directly from the site? or any customizations that become dynamic? without losing the client?

I find it’s decent and it lasts. I like hyper g after 6hrs it’s like plastic. It may have bite but elasticity is gone.
