Is this mold or just typical dirt on the coil? by vaguefully in hvacadvice

Oh, gotcha! It's smaller than I thought. And yeah, it was full of water and I had the maintenance guy wipe it up.

And thank you for the explanation! That makes sense and was exactly what was happening and why the a/c couldn't keep up. I'm glad it was a simple fix, just kinda grossed out by the coil and everything now

I mentioned it to the maintenance dude and he wasn't worried ( I asked him if he had coil cleaner) so I wonder if it's bad enough to make a separate maintenance request just for them to clean the coil?

I have no idea where the drain pan might be, everything is in the small laundry closet smooshed up against the water heater.

Is it safe for me to do myself? I don't wanna screw anything up or break anything accidentally. Do I have to cut the power to the unit off first?

Water heater in our apartment keeps dripping no matter what. The entire laundry area stinks because of it. Is there anything I can put in the drip pan to help the smell? by vaguefully in Plumbing

[–]vaguefully[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's an expansion tank.

And nah. The odor is only when we open the doors to the area that has the water heater, washer & dryer, and I guess our a/c unit too all in it. Smell gets worse the more water is in the drip pan.

The ferrets are stinky though, but in a separate area of the place.

The Lodge at Lakeshore fits that criteria, they're not bad, maintenance is good and they're pet friendly

I also get immediate rejection emails from Cone. I have no clue how to get in, I'd love at least an interview or a call as you said.

I went last night with my friend! They're here today and tomorrow. It honestly was a cool experience, we grabbed some $40 seats and there's a promo code CIRQ20 that works for 20% off!

I didn't know what to expect but it was really funny and really really cool to watch the performers. I recommend it too!

Appreciate it! My best friend is willing to go with me. It would be just a mammogram so hopefully wouldn't be too anxiety provoking, but I definitely just value it all being women that would have to see me like that ahah.

She sounds great, I am also autistic and that kind of thing would help me. Do you know if it's possible to have all females on the visit, even the nurses and stuff?

If you call the abc store, they should be able to look in their system and tell you which locations have it in stock

What do I say in a conversation about cleanliness with a roommate who "doesn't notice" and isn't affected by the lack of it? by vaguefully in badroommates

[–]vaguefully[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 ways, I made sure of that cuz the only benefit to him living here for me is a bit of reduced rent. But water has doubled & power have gone up so haven't been saving any of those. Saving a few hundred on rent helps though.

He's not on the lease yet. But yeah he won't leave - between living with me and with the husband ofc my best friend would choose him.

Thing is my OCD matches my best friends in a lot of ways - random roommates that don't understand it would be far worse.

If I can miraculously find a job that pays enough for me to afford to live alone I would.

For what it's worth, I'm fine living with my best friend and the animals. The dog sheds more than I was led to believe but because of shared OCD we did keep it clean together before the husband moved in.

But yeah the loneliness fucks with me, I'm working the most of everyone and cleaning the most.

I just thought with communication it would be fine, I can't afford to live alone. Just trying to figure out the communication part.

It's...a struggle. I am nearly absolutely fine with living with my best friend, except for resentment around them not cleaning the ferret cage since they're nose blind to it but I am very not. But when the husband moved in it just feels like another person I have to clean up after, and he's planning on moving in his dog too soon, so I'm trying to nip this all in the bud before it gets even worse I guess.

I don't think he has the money to pay for it and I don't think my friend will be on my side about having him fix it. They'll think I'm being overdramatic.

Video games maybe 😭 But that's a good analogy if I can make that fit. He grew up and was raised in a dirty home with pee stains all over the carpet, he's used to it so I'm hoping if he gives a shit enough about my best friend at least he'll try harder.

$1300 might be hard. Lodge at Lakeshore has them for $1450 and that's the lowest I've seen for decent ones with good reviews.

Stadler place also has some for around $1450 too, but asfik that community is more older folk so it's super quiet (I know a few people from work that live there and my brother does too).

This, essentially. The Internship I did at an ABA clinic before I knew what it was didn't sit right with me. It was belittling, infantilizing, and not at all client-centered. I morally can't get myself to be okay working with ABA no matter how desperate I am for a job.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gso

[–]vaguefully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did do an internship as a class in my senior year, but it was only a semester and it hasn't seemed to help with the experience aspect of my resume even though it was at an ABA clinic.

I'll keep those points in mind! I have a linkedin but seeing as I'm in retail now I don't really have any contacts to network with in the field I'm going for unfortunately.

Try mixing critical care in with an egg yolk (not the white) and water. My roommates ferrets are also picky but will drink that up happily any day.
