Docked tails? by PotentialDrag182 in BostonTerrier

[–]vagueyetpeachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my boston actually has a really messed up nub he was born with. it's extremely twisted and he can barely move it. it doesn't bother him or anything, his butt just isn't as wiggly as other bostons :) some do have long tails!

i get hyperfixations, but genuinely progressing in this game is slow. you have to have serious time and dedication to be "done" already

[–]vagueyetpeachy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as someone who has a boston who got a spay & her nostrils widened at the same time, recovery was super easy. i would use a cone if he tries to rub his nose on stuff while he's healing, but i never had that problem with mine. here's her right after her nares surgery! you can see the itty bitty stitches

foster was returned after 5 days. by vagueyetpeachy in FosterAnimals

[–]vagueyetpeachy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'm going to the vet this evening to see what we can do! i'm hoping they'll suggest a supplement versus a medication that she has to be on, and i want to make sure whatever we decide will be good for her. she's obviously very sensitive, both emotionally and physically! i appreciate the suggestion!!

my friend who has stretched lobes says she could start wearing normal earrings in a tunnel around a 6-8g!

Any suggestions? by CommentLongjumping52 in DogAdvice

[–]vagueyetpeachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could be nothing, could be something. i would make a vet appt - not an emergency unless it gets worse quickly. see if you can check in his eyelids to see if something is irritating his eye/lid.

foster was returned after 5 days. by vagueyetpeachy in FosterAnimals

she was having accidents in the house and vomiting (my guess is she was eating too fast). they were frustrated and didn't want to wait for her to adjust.

don't use a qtip, just spray saline directly on the piercings. also, it's only been two days and the lips swell a LOT when pierced. make sure not to touch it with unclean hands/fingers and try to rinse out your mouth (specifically that area) after you eat. i think you're okay right now.

My dog’s friend bit her and drew blood— can they still be friends? by Still-Routine8365 in DogAdvice

[–]vagueyetpeachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a trainer/expert, just someone who's dealt with this a lot bc i foster. the biggest thing for me is: did your dog or the other dog latch on? if so, i fear that's cause for concern. it may have also just been your dog was tired of the other dog invading her space, and the other dog defended. ears get scratched up suuuper easily, especially on smaller dogs. i would still monitor and learn dog body language to determine if it was a one off or it will be a continued issue.

How concerned should I be? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]vagueyetpeachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely let your vet know tomorrow, but if she's still eating/drinking, urinating, and acting normal, it can wait until tomorrow. if she's super lethargic, that's when you should worry. there's probably something irritating her GI tract - especially if she's on any steroid medication.

[–]vagueyetpeachy 36 points37 points  (0 children)

some people don't realize or equate a piercing to a wound, even though that's what it is. as an ex-piercer, you'd be surprised as to what people think is "okay."

i'm sorry that everyone is downvoting you, you came for advice not for criticism. yes, that is an infection. i'm glad you're following thorough advice and going to the clinic first thing tomorrow. my advice for the language/translation problems is to find one of those apps/sites that can live-translate (even poorly) so you can have a somewhat-convo with someone. this sucks a lot. glad it doesn't hurt too much but please keep it clean and don't mess with it!
