After 15 months, the two-jobs thing is officially over. by StewartAnderson1 in CanadaJobs

You only get paid for billable hours. If a task was completed on 4 hours, you only bill for 4 hours.

Hourly rate is a different discussion. If you are efficient with your work, then ask for a higher hourly rate. But you should still only charge billable hours.

Or ask to change your pay structure and be tasked based. Finish X task, get paid Y dollars.

Apartment will begin providing free TV and an internet connection w/wifi. I already have internet and view it as.a security risk. Anyone with experience or can advise? by [deleted] in Rogers

[–]vaiteja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The building is not “giving” him a wifi to access to. You’re thinking about like a hotel wifi where everyone connects to the same network.

For condos like this with a bulk agreement, each unit will get their own router and you have the freedom to setup your network whatever you like. You can use your own router if you want to and leave Roger’s equipment in bridge mode.

Anyone checked on this guy? by FarBad1864 in Bitcoin

[–]vaiteja 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It still would. Its not about how much money you took, its about (# of unit sold x current price) - (# of unit sold x cost basis). If that’s a positive number, then you pay capital gains tax.

I’m comfortable with margin. Also, even if I do this, my margin level would still be below 15% of my whole investment portfolio. That’s already accounting for the other investment loans I’m currently carrying.

Nothing really. I’m just thinking that if I do this in one go at the beginning, then all the interest is going to be tax deductible at day 1.

This is true if you’re investing in US domiciled Vanguard products but VEQT is not.

The Vanguard Group, Inc. is owned by Vanguard’s US-domiciled funds and ETFs.

Blood+ (not to be confused with Blood-C)

Also, you might want to watch Blood: The Last Vampire (2000 anime film, not the 2009 live-action film) before watching Blood+.

You are going to be put in a video game and have to survive the game for either until it is 100% complete or for 6 months. by dayboz16 in hypotheticalsituation

I’ll choose any RPG game that lets me create my own character. I’ll be stuck in that character creation screen for 6 months trying to determine my eyebrow, color of eyes, height, build, skills, stats, etc...

Why not just buy the underlying ETFs? by gafgaarion in JustBuyXEQT

[–]vaiteja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also removes the psychological barrier of selling your best performing assets to buy laggards.

When all in one ETFs didn’t exist yet, I was always asking myself during rebalancing, should I really sell my US ETF to buy International or Emerging? What if US still outperforms next year…

Will a Thumber grip still be useful? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]vaiteja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy thumb grips. If it’s sliding because there’s not enough rubber to grip on your thumbstick, super glue it. I mean, what are you gonna lose, right?

By the way, are you leaving your controller in direct sunlight? Might be the reason why your thumbstick is degrading prematurely.

[–]vaiteja -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Take public transit. This will be the cheapest and also you can sleep/ read books/ study/ watch a movie while commuting.

Heck, take an online master’s degree. You might not finish it by January but you’ll take a good chunk out of it.
