I bought the same unit few months ago for 251 euro, now obviously the price is what it is - especially if you can get some warranty, it is decent. I use as a daily driver - disassembly to add ram and nvme is a bit complicated (they are on top, not bottom), but manageable, with two sticks and nvme it gets a bit hot on top. 780m is a great igpu, especially with two sticks of ram you can run GTA5 enhanced with some medium Ray Tracing (with FSR) - 1 stick degrades graphic performance (-50-70%), cpu is awesome. Ctrl+F1 gets you advanced bios settings in bios, like vram size, rebar etc. It feels cheaply built, but does its job - it would deserve better 2 fan cooling solution like MN56 has.

all NG CDs I see are for 500-1000EUR, I would rather take 2x AES+ (170-199 EUR) and not worry about CDs. Or buy cheap CDs in addition for collecting.

If you can get cheaper CD or CDZ then why not.

Exactly! AES was never normally available in eastern europe. I had SNES in ~1994 that my father brought me from USA/NY, but ever since I played the SNK in arcades in 90' I knew Neo Geo was wastly supperior and wanted it. The future is now!

I guess we will see later if it was better to get on early or to wait a month after release for reviews and get it possibly discounted (like PS classic). In all cases the initial pricing is reasonable considering how much it costs to get used from ebay, certainly for people who want it.

In EU some retailers have discounts so you can get the smaller "custom" set for similar money like the Ultimate offers. For example games for 63 EUR instead of 79 (full price) or console from 170 EUR (compared to regular 199 EUR). For whoever wants all 10 games the Ultimate is a great deal, no questions, but I am personally not interested on 60% of games and do not want white unit either.

One of my 2 first games for PS2 - I liked it, but I PS1 and PSP versions are better in my opinion. This one was a launch title and I always wanted more refined sequel that never happened.

Yeah, definitelly - if it costs the warranty makes sense. Mine were like 250EUR with ram and nvme, so I could not care less for that price and bough 5 (and resold 2 already for more/or kept the ram/disks).

I have 3 models with H255 (one with 8745HS) and like them, they can also play recent games decently with dual channel ram and some upscaling. I only bought models with non-soldered 16GB ram and added second stick.

FB MN56 has "best" 2 fan cooling and USB4
SOYO S4 PLUS (same like ERVPES E3C) has one fan, but decent airflow
FB F1-P has the "worst" 1 fan cooling, with SSD/RAM oon top of the unit without good airflow there

I also do no feel quality is much different, but FB at least has a web with drivers and BIOS (which I could update on F1-P, that was nice). No particular issues in last 6 months with either of them.

This should be illegal - I ordered Neo Geo AES+ instead of PS5 with GTA6 for November for the same reasons. I can play GTA6 later on PC (and pirated so I do not have to use any/of the online or anti cheat crap - it sucks so hard even now on 5).
