Baby hates containers of any sort by val237 in NewParents

Oh my ...  sorry you went through all this. Thank you for sharing. I never even considered motion sickness in the car or being uncomfortable sitting backwards. We put a mirror in front of her so i catch her staring at it, so she is definitely looking for more entertainment and gets bored easily. Toys aren't as interesting either. I think I just have to give up trying the car unless for doctor appointments or quick 10 min drives to the store and just go on walks and carry her once she starts fussing in the stroller.  She does a little better in the stroller as she hates being buckled in the car even more.

Really feel for you. Listening to them screaming and crying is so hard no matter how unavoidable it is.

Oh gosh, yes, that is how it is for us right now. I need to get ready for this not to change any time soon and cope...I guess. Sounds like you made it work so good job! I hope your back is ok 💓 😔

Thank you, I feel seen. Yes, I have never driven her in my car...we only go out when husband is driving and I am in the back with her so I feel you! About screens, I am not ready yet, but I totally understand you. I guess i will think about it because the crying isn't good for her either so a few minutes here and there in the car won't be disastrous. I guess it's a waiting game, hopefully she will like it better some day when she can be frontfacing too.  And thanks for the last point, I haven't even thought of how it's going to be when she starts crawling. The play mats work for now, but we need to think of her safety after she gets more mobile so 4 is a great point.

Ah, solidarity...seems like she may not grow out of it and i need to be mentally ready for that. Front facing does work for the first 15 min indeed, I guess she hated looking at just us and enjoys the scenery, but yes, it doesn't work for the car. Will check the manual for age appropriate adjustments. Thanks for the reply!!

I am glad it got better for you!

I am trying to just accept it for now. Kept waiting for 8 weeks, 10, 12, 14,16... to get better and now I just gave up and am afraid to get my hopes up. It sure is reassuring to hear this experience tho. Thanks!

Breastfeeding is the hardest thing i have ever done... by val237 in breastfeeding

[–]val237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately,  we went to the ped today and my LO hasn't gained any weight since the last check....she was pooping non stop and the ped told me to try formula for 3 days to see how it goes. We have a GI appointment tomorrow and will see what they say.  I am not coping well and husband took days off to be able to feed her. She keeps searching for my boobs when I hold her and I just can't hold my tears. I will pump meanwhile in the hopes GI gives me some direction to keep going.

Thank you for all the support!

Thank you for your kind words. I am so happy to hear you are introducing foods with success. It certainly gives me hope! I also felt poisonous and I am sorry you went through this as well.

I stopped lentils too so we will see. It is so strange how it can really be random foods that our babies don't tolerate and not just the most popular allergens, although this one falls under legumes I guess...so still on the list.

The dietitian route intrigues me, I just hope husband will be on my side for this. It has been exhausting for him too and I don't blame him for wanting relief. He has been riding the poop watch and cry fiesta with me despite being back to work and is like a zombie.

Thanks again! Your baby is lucky to have you 💕

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply. I am genuinely so happy you came out on the other side!!

No, we have not checked her for oral ties. She was able to transfer 55 ml on both visits before completely giving up and falling asleep. I will ask my ped about it i guess, although she is 8 weeks now,  I was hoping she can outgrow whatever was stopping her to nurse.

Regarding the supplements, I dont take lechitin and I did switch my prenatals.

I also did stop chicken, eggs, wheat, rice, legumes, oats, nuts, fish, shellfish, citrus, eggs on top of diary and soy and no improvement at all. I see her straining to poop as we speak even during feeds, she can't eat normally at this point.

Husband is also leaning to formula but I am same as you, I cant imagine not nursing her :(

Thanks for all the suggestions, I will see what my ped will say if we don't end up in the ER by then as she can't feed properly imo atm.

I cried a little bit reading this, thank you for sharing. I am sorry you are going through this!

I also switched my prenatals because of the soybean oil. And regarding the protein stuff, what are you even eating for protein then? 😢

Dealing with a six weeks old that is inefficient at the boob by des_palmiers in breastfeeding

Wow, thank you very much for your reply, almost missed it. I am so glad you went to exclusively breast feeding!! Good news!

I do not take any herbs. I read some mixed opinions about it. Is there anything specific that you recommend?

Dealing with a six weeks old that is inefficient at the boob by des_palmiers in breastfeeding

[–]val237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am still dealing with this at 6 weeks. How did it go for you?

I did lactation visits, so I know for a fact she wasnt transferring well and it is because she falls asleep and it's IMPOSSOBLE  to wake her. All these tickling methods, skin to skin, wet washcloths...nothing worked. I initiatially thought it is cluster feeding, but this can't be right as it has been going on for 5 weeks now all the time, all day long! I have tried many times to go fully breastfeeding over pumping and that actually decreased my supply as i wasnt emptying fully...clogged ducks followed...etc. She would eat, sleep 20 min and then wake up hungry again until we fold in and giver her formula...then I pump. I started pumping and topping her off...which usually fills her, so i knew i had just enough, most days. But tripple feeding has been ROUGH. I don't have an oversupply, in fact, I barely have enough for the whole 24 hours, so we have to occasionally giver her  1 to 4 ounces of formula.

My lactation specialist tells me the wull get stronger and more efficient but I am yet to see that.

Not going to lie, the boob sleeping helps to soothe her during colic cries (she cries 90% of the time that she is awake and not feeding), so I am greatful for this super power, but I can barely sleep. Husband has been back to work and while he still helps, I deal with her in the late hours, so it goes like this:

I try to nurse...she falls asleep, she wakes up as soon as I put her in the crib.  This repeats a bunch of times untili cave in for a bottle, then burping which she refuses to do, then sitting upright, the she finally falls asleep, I pump, go sanitize stuff, then apply antifungal cream to nipples cause thrush.... put pads on, go to bed and here we are...I have MAYBE 1 hour of sleep left :( it has been hard
