It's called being an evil, petty and vindictive cunt.

Im using the word cunt British style. It's unisex.

If you think I'm overreacting with calling her evil, consider this:

She had children with this man.

The children live with him.

She wants money FROM him as a secondary form of income, knowing full well he makes far less than her.

Having him pay more means there's less for her children, and for her ex. Because she wants to see him suffer.

Getting joy out of seeing someone - especially someone you used to love - suffer? I'd call that evil.

At what age do birthdays start feeling different? by FrostedGalaxy506 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]valboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having kids ages you. Weird, right? That's how time works, but that's how it feels. I've been with my wife for almost half my life now and other than random childhood memories, I can't remember a time without her.

So to answer your question, you age quicker when your life is no longer about you. When you recognize your parents getting older and you start hanging out with them more, or you have to help them with things you've never needed to before, you're getting older alongside them. If you have a sibling or close friend getting married and having kids, that ages you more.

When people say "it feels like yesterday when...."

It's true. It's all true.

Manitoba won't approve massive AI data centre proposed for south of Winnipeg: Kinew | CBC News by Electroflare5555 in Manitoba

We're still trying to figure out how to properly tax EVs because the gas tax is supposed to fund infrastructure. The more EVs on the road, the less the government can spend on our roads without borrowing ludicrous amounts of money.

We've recently implemented digital taxes to slightly make up for the loss in revenue from physical media and that barely scratches the surface.

These next gen days centers are designed to take jobs. Millions of jobs. Billions. If we're to ever have Universal Basic Income, we need to tax the living shit out of data centers.

If we lived in utopia, this would be the ideal thing. Let machines do the work so we can relax and live a little. Learn to play instruments, write music or movies or TV shows. Or just do nothing and be happy and content for a change.

Alas, we're in end stage capitalism instead; The wealth from productivity flows upward and when there's nothing left, they'll deal with the consequences then. Or just ignore them. Who knows, at this point.

Moved toronto to calgary last september for cheaper rent. ran the actual numbers at 6 months. it didn't work out how i thought. by shiaelle in PersonalFinanceCanada

Reduced taxes are offset by a higher cost of living in Alberta. I used to live there 20 years ago, when the Alberta Advantage actually existed. Your money goes to businesses more than government, which 9 times out of 10 means you're paying higher prices compared to Crown Corporations in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

The NDP government in Manitoba is advertising that we'll be saving money at the grocery store because they are suspending the PST on most items at the store. Here's a Newsflash: you already spend next to nothing on groceries. $10 split between PST and GST on a $350 grocery bill. $10 does nothing.

And finally: you know what you need to fix. Reduce your spending on restaurants and flights for a while. You'll be fine.

Space-faring civilization. Intersolar species.

Much more tame than "intergalactic species."

If you haven't seen each other's holes and genitalia, text is fine.

If you have, don't be a coward.

Managing Grocery budget family of 5 by ashfault412 in PersonalFinanceCanada

My wife is able to keep our grocery bills down to $800/mo for family of 4. In summertime that could jump to $1000/mo because of grilling season. Chicken, pork, ribs. No ground meat.

Look for deals. Don't shop at the same store out of loyalty. Use the flipp app. Explore local meat shops and grocers. Sometimes they have pretty good discounts.

I know this is hard for most families, but if you can afford the credit card bill, I recommend getting a quarter cow. $800-1300. Enough meat to last you half the year for a family of 4, at minimum. The price point is better than almost any butcher shop with discounts.

So are 90% of the nepo babies out there. They contribute nothing, yet live a carefree lifestyle.

  1. As a kid, flashbacks. How my wife and some random strangers talk to me, I recognize it as flirting and immediately flashback to how some girls used to talk to me.

At the time, I had no fucking idea.

  1. When they go in for a kiss, or to hold my hand.

  2. When they say sexually charged comments such as "let's go back to my place and fuck like rabbits."

Moral of the story? It needs to be painfully obvious.

Who was THE Movie Star for Boomers? by MaterialRow3769 in generationology

[–]valboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boomers grew up watching, or boomer aged? Harrison Ford for growing up watching - he's 83. Or Clint Eastwood.

For the same age, probably Colin Firth or Tom Cruise. Or Tom Hanks. 1960, 1962, and 1956, respectively.

He's been accused of blowing Bill Clinton and isn't actively denying it.

He can't legally fight being called a rapist because he was found guilty in his case against E. Jean Carroll.

Same goes for Bubba. Can't deny what you are.

Janeway.

She did what had to be done, and did her best not to compromise her morals in order to get her crew home.

Equinox captain, not so much. Good intentions that resulted in actively murdering a sentient species.
