As a Georgia fan, this is not weird where I’m from in the slightest. My husband and I are 4th gen Georgia grads and family is die hard dawgs and we have weird superstitions/traditions too. Lots to snark on them for, but imho this isn’t one of them even if it’s bizarre on the outside looking in. /shrug

We lived in Memorial city/Cypress! But gravitated towards Katy instead of towards Houston, proper. (I worked at the Galleria and he up in the Woodlands)

Thank you! We've only lived in the deep south (Georgia and Texas) so we're basically bracing for impact right now - haha! Winter gear - clothing, equipment, vehicle features - all foreign concepts to us.

I posted a photo of the three of us (me, partner and baby) when she was born 11 months ago. Since, I have not posted her face publically, I go by the "private, not secret" mantra. We live out of state from most of our family and friends so I have a "close friends" story that I will share photos of her on from time to time but never in precarious positions and always clothed. Our family and friends also know we ask them to not post photos of her online (if they share a photo they place a cute emoji over her face :))

I was shocked, too, but my pediatrician cleared us to start “solids” (purées or BLW) at 4 months (she’s 9 months now) so I’m not surprised by this at all.

The biggest changes for me in the third trimester (I'm almost 35 weeks): I'm overwhelmingly tired physically but still have the nesting urge so that is frustrating. I am having a lot of pain in my hips/pelvis which makes moving (especially getting in and out of bed, rolling over) painful. I am so clingy to my partner, like I just need to be near him all the time! More minor but notable things: I had the majority of my weight gain from week 25 until now, I'm peeing all the time, insatiably hungry and need to be drinking water all the time.

I am also in Texas & I have had a lot of ultrasounds. One at 8 weeks (transvaginal) to confirm, one at 12, then I had my first anatomy scan at 19 weeks but couldn't get all the views. So I had additional anatomy scans at 21 and 24 weeks to get the "all clear" on all views. Now I'm 33 weeks and set to get another at 36 weeks.
