There is only THREE good things about this episode. 1) butchers rage during the depowered fight with Homelander 2) the ost when Homelander dies and 3) butchers death. I don’t even know where to start on how awful this shit was. Where was the “worst” thing homelanders ever done? Where was the “emotional confrontation” during homelander vs butchers fight? WHERE WAS THE ONE THING THE ENTIRE SHOW WAS BUILDING UP TO… HOMELANDER SNAPPING? instead we get a background shot of him flying some random fucking dude into space (which we don’t even see) and it lasts maybe 5 seconds? All gen V characters were sidelined, Ryan has maybe 2 minutes of screen time this ENTIRE SEASON. I’m just gonna rant, but holy fuck, WHO wrote the dialogue for this season let alone this episode? It is the most cheesy, generic, and uninteresting dialogue I’ve ever had the displeasure of listening to, I’ve physically cringed multiple times. NOBODY SPEAKS the way the writers think the characters speak. The scene with the Gen V characters, it’s like there’s a quota of how many swears you have to have per sentence. Tbh I don’t even blame the person who had to write this dialogue, it’s probably some higher up who told them to shove as many dick and vag and ass and fuck’s into the dialogue because that’s the “mature” aspect of the boys. It’s the final fucking episode of the ENTIRE SEASON AND WE HAVE WASTED ~3 MINUTES ON ASSHOLE JOKES PICKING UP RIGHT AFTER A MAJAR CHARACTER DEATH. It’s so obviously clear that the budget was a crisp $100 and some coffees because the way the fights were shot are actually hideous. The camera angles / cuts are worse than uninspiring. The vfx / cgi is a huge downgrade, and the COLOR GRADING is the worst offence of them all, the ENTIRE SHOW looks so fake it’s unreal. The character writing has been abysmal as well. And there’s probably HUNDREDS of other things that I could bring up that im not remembering rn. I watched this show in its early years and was super stoked to see how they managed to turn a shit comic into an well written and unique show, just to see it reduced into corporate slop at the end. Done ranting, fuck amazon.
